    As an afghan I want thank you for taking the time to go to Afghanistan. I noticed some people have commented that your are brave for going to Afghanistan. I say all you have to have is a good heart and good attitude like you two have. My dad used to tell me that years ago there were heardly any hotels in Afghanistan. So whenever they are foreigners went there the afghans used to argue over who’s house they will spend their time there. Lolll to the point that they imams (priest in Islam) had to schedule who gets host the tourists and when. Loll I find that very beautiful. Afghans love guests. We say guest are friends of God.
    I wish I was still there to show you my favorite parts of my country.

      Hello, I am from Bangladesh. I am on a motorcycle tour. I would like to go to Afghanistan along with my motorcycle but I heard so many stories of Afghanistan that this is very dangerous place to be and also in border they don't accept carnet probably they will let you in but they will ask high duty on your motorcycle or vehicle while you are leaving. Is that true? Please I need some clear and authentic information about Afghanistan. sprymahe@gmail.com here's my contact please let me know.

      @Roadsup really appreciate your effort and enthusiast for traveling on motorcycle. I would like to know about Afghanistan from your experience. And the procedure of border crossing along with your motorcycle. Im from Bangladesh and now Im in Lahore, Pakistan I would like to cross Afghanistan to Turkmenistan by my own motorcycle. Please let me know the procedure and your experience. Eagerly looking forward your reply. Thank you.

      yes, so true! It is amazing to meet local people, see how they live and exchange stories. Sometimes, when we do not speak the same language even some hand gestures and a friendly smile work fine. The hospitality of people is really fascinating and we learned a lot.

    Claudia and Peter,
    I have recently discovered you both and your travels and have enjoyed watching! I am impressed with what you are doing but I would not be honest with you if I didn't say that traveling in Afghanistan was very dangerous and I am sure you both know this. I can only hope for your safe passage through the country. It looks like you have come across many nice Afghans, let alone them being very helpful. It is a shame what the people of Afghanistan are going through but I myself don't think things will ever change in this country either.
    Please be very vigilant and careful as I wish you both safe journeys as I continue to follow you.

    • @RoadsUp
      @RoadsUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your friendly and honest feedback, Pete West Jr. Yes, you are right, Afghanistan was the most dangerous country we've visited so far. Especially our mothers weren't very happy. We met only very friendly and welcoming people, but we have heard different stories from travellers we met, while planning the trip. It was also the country where we did the most thorough preparation. Nevertheless, it was a unique experience - especially being invited at an Afghan house to eat and spend the night.
      Thanks for your wishes! All the best from Claudia and Peter

    I knew you by following the Noraly's adventures. Great video that gives a very positive image of the hospitality and the kindness of Afghans people. Regarding the V-Strom, I have the 650 that I already find very heavy, I do not know how you do to drive the 1000 Wee with Claudia and all the load. Respect lol ... What about the wilbers shock ? it's a good improvement ?
    If by chance you come back to Thailand, we would be happy to invite you in our home here in Chiang Mai for a break and may be give you some advise and tips to discover the beautiful mountains of the North.
    Good luck, we look forward to following your future travels.
    Greetings from Thailand. Michel and Sunanta.

    • @RoadsUp
      @RoadsUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michel and Sunanta! Yes. Everybody we met in Afghanistan was friendly, kind and welcoming. We watched your video about Doi Luang national park and Pu Kaeng waterfall. Great! You also have a lot of luggage. The Wilbers shock is an amazing improvement! We told them about our trip, about our weight with motorcycle gear and about the weight of our luggage. Then they mounted the perfect suspension. We absolutely love it. When I am riding alone without luggage it is really hard :) For two up with heavy luggage it is awesome. The soft shaking of an overloaded bike is gone. It feels much saver when accelerating, doing turns and breaking - on paved roads and offroad. For me the bike became much easier to handle.
      Thank you very much for your invitation to Chiang Mai. As you can see on RoadsUp.com/map we have already been there. It was a great place to relax and get new energy for the rest of the trip.
      All the best from Claudia and Peter

    This is the first video of yours I've seen. As a US military veteran, I was getting so much anxiety watching this episode!!! Wow you guys are either very brave or very foolish hahahah.
    I know that the vast majority of Afghans ARE VERY kind and courtious and, I met many including our translators. But it's the Taliban loyalists that ruin it for everyone.
    Especially now, as they're taking that country over again :(
    Anyways, I'll watch more of your videos! Cheers!

    Very enjoyable. Claudia, after watching Peter have some issues with his riding I think that it is time to get your own bike to use.( I saw the 2 of you riding double but not sure about both of you have their own bike) :-)

    Interesting video - how did you fix the buckled back wheel?

    Great motovlogs. Music in your videos is a bit distracting at times though. Safe travels.

    Waoh, was ein Abenteuer! :) Super Video! Die Offroad-Skills des Fahrers grenzen aber zum Teil schon fast an mutwilliger Zerstörung. Besonders der Schaden an der Felge hätte leicht verhindert werden können, indem man einfach langsamer ins Loch hineinfährt.

    I like your videos. I am sure there are many good people in Afghanistan, however, I would not put my wife's life at risk by taking her there for a vacation. I am glad it worked out this time. One day, maybe, we can all live in peace.
