When it was opened in 1800s, at that time it was 10 acres. TOday Mysuru zoo is spread around 157-acre
It's just 50 % they showed in video. It takes one day to see complete zoo. Very well maintained zoo

There is a much much bigger zoo in Chennai spread over 1490 acres one of the biggest in the world. Animals are kept in their own kingdom there with so much of space and natural surroundings. Mysuru zoo is very good as I have seen from childhood but pales in size and variety compared to Chennai zoo.
But varities of animals are more and 2 days ago mysore zoo has 2 new animainlas that is orangutan and gorilla. An they white rhino,waallaby,goral,tapir,lemur these are not there in chennai zoo.
@@aryanb7863 Chennai zoo is the largest with the maximum area 10 times of Mysuru, flora and no of animals. It has separate enclosures for white tigers and hosts more than 150 exotic species in forest environment away from city. There is no comparison with any other zoo in India as nothing comes in area and species near that. Mysuru has specialized in elephants and is a well managed much smaller zoo. I have visited both many times and there is no comparison.

Of varities of animals is more than chennai zoo , as far I know chennai zoo is 1 st largest zoo in india in terms of area but mysore zoo has more exotic animals. You have not seen them bu they are at mysore and some new ones Just came at new year 2022 like orangutan and gorilla which are not there at any zoo in india. African elephant is not there in chennai.came buffalo,south american tapir,jaguar,African cheetah,hinalayan goral, australia waallaby,red billed toucam,African white rhinoceros,ring tail lemur,bornean orangutan and western gorilla,hoolock gibbon.African meerkar are exotic animals which are only present in mysore zoo,not in chennai as for unique animals of chennai zoo ,indian wild ass are only present in chennai zoo.and for rest of animals which are present in chennai are already there at mysore zoo.mysore zoo is not biggest bu it has more varities of species according to official central government inventory and mysore zoo guide map 2021 also become bigger than its old 2015 map

Ir has shown 50% of animals other 50% animals name are, tapir,african white rhinoceros ,cape buffalo,ring tail lemur,red necked wallaby,meerkat,western gorilla,bornean orangutan,indian hog deer,indian barking deer,spotted deer,brow anterled deer,chowsingha,nilgai(blue bull),indian jackal,common bengal fox,bengal porcupine,simensis crocodile,salt water crocodile,morets crocodile,cassowary,emu,rhea,jaguar,hoolock gibbon,nilgiri langur,hamadrays baboon,Brown capuchin monkey,chinkara,black buck,himalayan black bear,common marmoset,rusty spotted cat,jungle cat,civets,indian giant squirell,and 50 varities of birds.

In this Zoo you cannot take plastic with yourself , if you have Biscuits, wafers its plastic covers will be taken off so It is a plastic free zoo as well !!!

Brother there is everything like seating and chill places and even food court!! there is Mysore palace and there will be Dusshera every year. This zoo is 157 acres. How can uh say that there is no facilities like seating and food court. Lol
