  • Installing an FD2 inlet manifold on my FN2 CTR in preparation for a re-map in a few weeks. The RRC seems like a good choice for power gains and keeping the OEM + look.

    There is lots more great content to come from the current FN2 including Track days, Repairs and Mods.
    For those new to my channel, I try and do as much auto mechanics on my cars as possible. I'm very obviously not a mechanic, I just have an interest in repairing and modifying cars, and track driving.
    Currently, my Honda Civic Type R FN2 is my daily and show car. The plan is to buy another FN2 with the aim of getting my racing license and turning this FN2 in to a dedicated amateur race car.
    The FN2 race car will be stripped out with a roll cage, will have all the performance mods I can throw at it (like intake manifold, exhaust manifold, decat, cat-back, cams, oil pump, gearing changes, remap...) and an awesome body kit to round it off.
    Thanks, if you got this far and please consider subscribing :)

    Great informative video 👍 I believe the RRC is the best inlet manifold for the fn2 & ep3 with the added bonus of being a genuine Honda part.

    I’ve done the same RRC mod with piper manifold+cat and exhaust but with the J35 throttle body and got over 240bhp. I recommend you consider the j35, unfortunately prices have shot up since I did it.

      I fitted the piper exhaust manifold on my drive because I wanted it all heat wrapped including the cat to keep temperatures down in the engine bay and up in the cat. The hardest thing is getting the manifold through the gap as it won’t fit. The trick is to put it in the wrong way around and turn it 180 as it goes up past the sub frame. Took me ages to figure it out 😂

      Sounds like a right nightmare !! I'm cheating and I've booked it into a specialist so they can remap the car straight after.

      To limp it to the Tuners I put a Hondata FD2 map on and this put the engine light out. I know cams are slightly different in the FD2 but it ran fine with know engine light problems.

      Just for info the J35 throttle body gave me fantastic, instant response. The best I’ve ever known, even Paul West commented on how good it was when tuning and think he should know

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just gasket, coolant and a selection of ratchet extensions and those adapters that you can go at the bolts from an angle. Probably an extendable magnet as well.

  • @bogmasher
    @bogmasher ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Drew - which version of the RRC did you buy. There are 2 versions on the Tegiwa website, one is the ported 70mm version, but presumably this is for the bigger throttle body if you change it ?

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I think I got the regular version. I got mine from Torque GT and they only have one version www.torque-gt.co.uk/honda-rrc-inlet-manifold-k20.html
      Yeah I think you are correct about the ported one. I never really intended to get a bigger throttle body. Is the ported one more expensive?

    • @SMACKYOURB1TCHUP
      @SMACKYOURB1TCHUP ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. You would have a bottleneck and need a J37 TB that is straight 70mm or any other 70mm TB

  • @MrMorka39
    @MrMorka39 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What do you think after all. It was worth it? I have a chance to get rrc for 500€. I can install myself. I have installed tegiwa decat. I don't like very loud and not going further. Stock ex manifold, throttle body, even filter. Not sure how mutch map cost. May do you know? What power I could get with those mods? Thank you

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure it it's worth it. Lots of money really. The RRC gives you most gain at the highest RPM so you may not notice so much at lower/ middle RPM. The map would be about £600. Depending on your induction kit I reckon you'd see about 220bhp.
      Do you watch Dynodaze? Would be worth looking through their videos to try and find an FN2 with similar mods to see what power it had.
      It's all expensive for the relative gains.
