Dr. Understands food addiction. I had the same problem and decided to change my bad food habits for me and not my family and friends. If u want to change u can do it people stop making a lot of excuses. Cancer and diabetes is real. Remember people the greatest wealth is great health. What good is your money when you cannot enjoy it. We are so bless in this country to be bless with chef A J and Dr Mcduall and others to motivate and educate us for free on nutrition. Wake up guys.

    Great talk.
It is very difficult to change food habits. I did it in 2021 Oct thanks to a Chef A J show where Dr. McDougall was talking.
Very soon after that, I changed from ricebased vegetarian ( I am a South Indian lady)to rice based vegan, with less oil.
    I immediately realized the logic.
I am a long-distance runner and tennis coach. People wonder from where I get all this extra energy at age 67. They don't know the secret.

Today’s show was what makes your show different than other people on youTube. Where else would we get 3+ hours of John McDougall. We also had an interviewer who knows how to interview people. You never seem to ask scripted questions as much as questions that people really want to know. It’s a show that watching it live is much better than watching a recording of it.👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

He was at the top of his game tonight! I watched most of it twice too. I always pick up something. I'll have to say that quitting those highly palatable foods that drag so many millions of us deep into the Pleasure Trap abyss are mighty mighty difficult "habits" to break! Addiction or not! Methinks we are splitting hairs on that topic!

I regularly dug through the trash for SUGAR. The dismissal of SUGAR as a MAJOR addiction is the one place where Dr. McDougall and I part ways. I really have zero patience for his minimizing of the role of sugar in destroying our health and lives.

In 2013 I was knee deep into the Wheat Belly diet. I found Dr McDougall from a search of youtube for Wheat Belly. I thought McDougel was paleo. I got so mad but the longer I watch the video I decided he was right. He changed my life. I use to weigh 370 lbs at 6 foot 3 and Now i weigh 2007 at 6 foot 3. I pay Dr. McDougll back by always recommending his videos and awesome plan to live a long life pain free.

Chef AJ and Dr. Mcdougall..you guys are great. I can never get enough. If I may weigh in on Chef AJ's take on food addiction. I loved your lecture, from fat vegan to skinny... please remember Chef, you had other things going on, concurrently; which may have resulted in those symptoms.
I do believe Dr. Lisle, and Dr. Goldhammer have it nailed...Americans are mostly on the run...excessively busy. It's extraordinarily difficult to deal with the "Chinese food syndrom." You really need to carry around a huge bag of food to make it through the day. I've succeeded until 5lm..then I run out..and forget about it..I'm off to the races

    Good afternoon all,
I’m sorry that I missed this discussion when it broadcasted, but I wanted to turn in now to watch the replay. I grew up a vegetarian, yes, eating all the wrong foods, but also healthy foods. I became vegan 4 years ago now and I’ve read or am reading still all of the awesome doctors out there for information on how to live a healthy life style. I watch all of the videos old and new. I only wish I would found all of you while I was growing up. Two yes ago I was diagnosed with a non- alcohol liver disease called PBC. There’s a genetic marker and it’s a woman’s disease with no cure. I’m on two meds for life. Any advice ? Thank you both for always being there for us. ❤

No food, might be not appetising but not addiction as bad as alcohol or benzos, i know because i am recovering alcoholic, and i have been in rehab for both, it is utter hell on earth to come off, food is minor, unless you are starving to death, i've had that to, i went down to 31 kilos in hospital, was hell on earth! This diet change is minor discomfort in comparison to real withdrawal, took me years to beat booze, 20 plus years in AA.❤❤😅😅😢😢

What did the Irish eat before they got the potatoes from Peru? Just curious...and now I realize I can eat my toasted sourdough bread but not with margarine and garlic powder, that is one of my food addictions. Having it just plain is OK but honestly not as delicious. Guess my health is more important than eating like a Queen.

Uterine prolapse can also be from a traumatic birthing process, ripping those ligamants that hold the uterus in place. I saw some older women in the hospital with one (1980's). It's a really sad condition, having your uterus sinking up to or out of your vagina. I guess thank to c-sections they're less common, but I have not looked into it. We had some very pro-women's health professors in university back then, they themselves were older, but not yet ancient. Had lots of great stories about what women's health care was and used to be like in rural Kentucky, Ohio...

Curious to know whether NAFLD might be linked to one of the byproducts of everyday metabolism, ethanol ? If in the absence of excess alcohol you’re consuming a diet of foods that breakdown into ethanol which for some reason result in elevated ethanol levels( perhaps SNPs, perhaps down regulated detoxification pathways obstructing timely excretion, other types of toxicity)? Thank you in advance.
