Dude, I'm a guitar player that's been learning bass, so i was following along, but something kept feeling wrong. I finally realized you left the damn A chord out !! It would be easy to incorporate it into this simplified acoustic-friendly version, without completely gutting the song.
Just a Tip for the Marty, Agreed here a sample with the A would have been nice. But Totally understand the Strip down idea. For some a A cord is a little tuff based on Finger size. But A is a pretty common cord. Still for many this is a nice verson. Just say Keff and Mick 2016 Acoustic Verson also very cool.

I like your style. Just a couple of notes - For the chorus, I preffer playing it without the muting (I do the slapping) - On the verse, I add an A between the G and D on the second part
