The entire Spartacus series was good, if a bit sad in places. I would dispute the idea that it is an American Production, because it wasn't. It was a New Zealand Production and Starz in America.
The show was filmed in New Zealand, but it was very much an American produced show under Starz and DeKnight Productions. So it has American origins. Location is an entirely different factor.
