Acting isn’t just about films and movies and fame, she could just perform on stage (btw I did not mean that you said that it was about fame I was just stating it)
With failure comes the drive to propel success, we will all get "no" at some point or another it's pretty much unavoidable. It's called the law of averages. So basically with 20 no's you'll get a few that say yes, it's a statistical fact. So don't get down just because you don't what you want right off the bat, just work harder for it and it will eventually come
My nervous thing is defo blinking a lot. The casting director at my last audition on Sunday mentioned it, but he said that most actors do it so its natural, and the second time I read the script he said I took the direction well, so that's great!! :)
1. dont bring outside emotions to your audition. don’t let what happened that day effect your audition. 2. dont compete with other actors 3. do not boast about yourself 4. do not go into the audition room unless its your turn 5. do not come unprepared, bring a resume and professional headshots 6. dont audition for a character you dont fit 7. dont do a scene off book use your scripts 8. dont be too enthusiastic 9. do not prepare too much ?! 10. do not to something out of line be respectful 11. do not keep your phone ringer on 12. do not be too antsy and all over the place . dont be nervous 13. do not stop in the middle of the scene 14. dont get too upset if u made a mistake 15. do not ask to go back in and retry
The only example I can think of about tearing up during auditions is if you find out something sad (I.e I found out that my dog was being put down during an honors band audition)
Just auditioned for Eliza (my fair lady) and got a callback! I really love your videos and I saw the first one I loved it. Your videos are very helpful.
lol owo no it doesn’t, it means the casting director thinks you would be a good choice for the role (along with some other people who auditioned) so they make you read lines that the characters say or sing what the character sings to get to see who fits the role most out of the select people :) I hope this helped
You Could Start Watching her vids! Its awesome! You see, Im literally waiting so i can get the part for stranger things which i think is not going to happen but I hope you and me and everybody try best!
Hey Rachel I have been acting for 8 years ( professional theater classes 1student film). I think I am ready to be with an agent and my parents agree but the problem is I don't know who to trust. I have agents 2 blocks away but there are no reviews on google and if there are reviews they are just the star ratings. There is one agency that has good reviews but google says it might be hacked! How do I know who to trust before hand? Thanks ilysm❤️
HEY RACHEAL!!!! So I have an open call for an agency soon, and it would be sooooooo helpful if you did a video on what to expect and what to bring for an open call
Thank you for these amazing tips :) last week, I got accepted into my first talent agency and I am very excited and I must say that I put most of it down to you and your amazing tips! :*
Can we all take a momment to say.. Julia you are great playing as the 3 characters and P.S: thanks to you i have MORE motivation to become an actor 😊😊😊😁😁
I'm fixing to do a play audition for Annie Jr. I'm 12 and the ages run from 6 to 14. I'm trying out for 4 characters. Any tips? and will I need a headshot or resume since it is children's theatre?
Emma Helmert I am auditioning soon for a play, and all we do is walk in the room when it is our turn. All I need to bring is the parents signature form.
most of my auditions are either self tape or with someone who works for my agency, then they upload it in the site, then the casting director looks at it. iv only had 2 in person casting in 6 months iv been represented. they were cool and laid back. nothing to worry about.
I want to audition for more things, but nothing really seems to work out. At this acting academy in my area (the only one in my area) you have to be in a class to audition for anything and classes are really expensive. There's also a modeling company my friend used that helped her be in commercials, but you have to pay to talk to them and pay for them to find you roles. They also get some of what you earn. It's just frustrating that it all costs so much money. The only free thing is the school plays/musicals, but sadly last time I auditioned I didn't make it. There's a lot of talent at my school so I'm not quite sure I would make it. I just don't know what to do. Anyone have any tips? Don't know what to do to find somewhere I can audition that I don't have to pay for.
Hey Rachel! I really like your videos they are so helpfull! Thank you for all the advices about acting - and the sites too! 💞 I just wanted to ask you can I go for audition if I'm not american citizen but I study there? *That's mine plan for the future hope it came true 💞* Love you so much! Have a great night/day 💞
Lol the part of were Jason started talking about all of "his" experiance was so funny and your face was funny at that part too! XD I love you Rachel your so awesome!
At this one performance arts business in my town, they would often give leads to people who took dancing or/and singing lessons there. You were almost GUARANTEED a lead as long as you used one of their services there. It didn't really matter if you took dance or singing lessons elsewhere. This business was often trying to keep their best customers and make money. I can't afford dance lessons anyway, but I try to work on dance. Luckily, they hired some better people who actually care about acting skills than if the person auditioning bought services from them. THAT'S A LONG STORY!
You're so awesome:) ps I'm glad that medication you're taking is helping your acne, I bet it makes you feel a whole lot more confident! Also, I was wondering if you could do a video on how to read from a script they hand you when you walk in the door? I have always had problems with that. They make us read it live, without even letting us review at our small acting community:/
Thanks so much for your advice and tips. I really want to be an actress and this really helps. I'll be sure to remember all of these tips that you gave! You just got a new sub! :D
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! you have amazing tips and you have seriously helped me so much. I'm getting into acting and working on set and stuff and every time I have a question, I come to your channel because you always have the answer haha. THANKS so much
1- don't bring your life into the audition 2- Don't be competitive with other actors 3- Don't brag about yourself 4- don't go in the audition room unless it's your turn 5- don't go in unprepared (headshot, resume) 6- do not audition for characters you don't fit 7- do not do a script if you havent memorized the line 8- don't be too enthusiastic 9- do not do something out of line (don't randomly kiss or do anything Innaproiately) 10- don't be upset if they want you to say the lines differently 11- don't keep your phone ringer on 12- don't be too nervous while auditioning (picking nails, pacing, too overdramatic) 13- don't stop in the middle of the scene unless they tell you to 14- don't be too upset if you find out you made a mistake 15- do not ask to go back in and retry
I have a video on that! (: It was actually one of my very first videos! here's the link if you'd like to check it out- th-cam.com/video/hjZWTL-p1S8/w-d-xo.html
When I'm nervous at an audition, I start shaking. But, I just feel like I'm shaking, you can't actually see me shake. I feel like the judges can see through me, and then I get even more terrified!
When I went to lion king audition this year thinking I did really bad, but I actally did really good i did not get a part but i got a lead role I sarabi Simbas mom it may not seem big but if your are in 6 out of 13 scenes that is a huge deal now I have a ton of lines and songs to memorize I really enjoyed this video
Im doing a Disney Channel audition this weekend but they didn't ask for a headshot or a reseme and i have had no experience to create a resume and I'm so confused to what i should do haha
I’ve been acting dancing and singing for most of my life now (I’m 13) and I go to a stage school and Iyesterday I asked my teacher at the school about how I want to act professionally and if she could help me (my mum thinks ALL actors my age end up on drugs)and she said she new a few agents!fingers crossed my dream will come true!
i am close to finding an audition so please answer my question or make a video about it. How do you get the script before the audition so you can memorize your lines?- I subscribed!!
Hi! I have a Question... It's my dream to become an actor and I'm practicing but I just need to know do you have to pay to play in a movie and if you do how much?
#helpful! And can u make a video on how to get into ur character and be able to jump into ur character at any time. Example: when u have a laugh attack and u have to get into a serious character. Just a request.
1. Don't bring your life into the audition 2. Don't be competitive with other actor 3. Don't boast about yourself 4. Don't go into the audition room unless it's your turn 5. Don't come unprepared 6. Don't audition for characters you dont fit 7. Don't do the scene off book if you haven't memorized it 8. Don't be too enthusiastic 9. Don't prepare too much 10. Don't do something out of line 11. Don't keep your phones ringer on during your audition 12. Don't be too all over the place 13. Do not stop in the middle of a scene unless they tell you to 14. Don't get too upset if you made a mistake 15. Don't ask to go back in and retry
You should do a video on what to expect when a agency wants to meet you and what to bring (: it would be Sooo helpful.
Yeah
Definitely
Yes!!!!
Yaaaaas
Yeah definitely
Instead of doing what NOT to do at an audition could you do what you SHOULD do at an audition
Yah that would help
MercedesDK yes
she tells u in this video
MercedesDK couldn't you just do the opposite???? 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
MercedesDK besides everyone makes their own auditions there OWN 🙄 🙄
Rachel can you show us what films you acted on.
yeah
Acting isn’t just about films and movies and fame, she could just perform on stage (btw I did not mean that you said that it was about fame I was just stating it)
Yassssss definitely
Lol I'm your 333th like XD

1. dont bring outside emotions to your audition. don’t let what happened that day effect your audition.
2. dont compete with other actors
3. do not boast about yourself
4. do not go into the audition room unless its your turn
5. do not come unprepared, bring a resume and professional headshots

For me, I'm gender neutral and I audition for male and female
Kier Simpson i am soooo sorry
Kiersten Simpson I'm sorry

when I saw this I was like
hAMiLtoN?
But it’s not but that’s still really awesome! Congrats!
(Yes I know im 2 years late8
lol owo no it doesn’t, it means the casting director thinks you would be a good choice for the role (along with some other people who auditioned) so they make you read lines that the characters say or sing what the character sings to get to see who fits the role most out of the select people :)
I hope this helped
I hope I have a casting director like Julia

Emma Helmert probably not, whenever I audition for parts (I'm 14) I don't bring my headshot
operalovesing that's what I thought but I was not positive.
Emma Helmert I bring a headshot
Emma Helmert
I am auditioning soon for a play, and all we do is walk in the room when it is our turn. All I need to bring is the parents signature form.

If you have to pay to see an agency it's a scam. All legit agencies make money off a certain percentage of the money you get payed from an acting job.
I had been waiting for this for a LONG time. love Julia as Jason!!
i loved the grumpy cat book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your hair is AMAZING!! Gorgeous!
Aw thank you!! I just dyed it a lot more blonde actually (; You will see it in my new video coming out tomorrow!

remember: THE CASTING DIRECTORS HEAR *EVERYTHING*
