The torque to 600nm(444ftlbs) is right and backing 90 degrees and retightening is right. It’s so the conical center lock is seated completely flush. Also please loosen and tighten with the wheels in the air so the wheel is completely flush to the rotor and make sure that gold center lock is pulled out when finished torquing so it’s completely locked so the wheel doesn’t fall off.
Hey Teej. I just wanted to say how im so proud of all the hard work you put in the chanel and the company. The quality of your content has came so far. Love u bro
Hey Noah. This just made my day. I’m trying to increase the amount of uploads while maintaining constant action/ mods in every video which was been challenging and stressful lol. You saying this, fuels me to keep going hard. So thank you ❤
dylan always trying make fun of you i don’t like him and your editor didn’t add the 88 wheels when you pointed you gotta stop the playing and get more serious so they can work better
man, i havent watched the vlogs in about a year, forgot how much i missed watching them and just watching teej be happy. Brings me happiness seeing bro win, he deserves all of it. Love you TJ, gonna start chiming in again
21:43 100% true. And if you plan on taking it on the track, make sure you inspect the center nut for scrapes, and buy Porsche approved lube for it, it is not anti-sieze.
@mels_life1 force an eye from its socket rupture the lungs, stomach and intestines, if blown into the mouth penetrate human skin and if it enters the blood stream that air can be fatal by causing a heart attack puncture an ear drum and cause deafness blast poisonous particles into your body (where they immediately combine with your blood) if you have been painting or are covered with dirt or soot
So many auto shops play with air like that I feel like people don't know how risky it is. I always used to clean myself off with one and blow my shirt up to be funny until I learned the risks. Scary stuff!
Center locks are beautiful but a pain in the butt to work with… you’re supposed to “as per Porsche tighten them up to 440 then loosen them 45-90 degrees then re tighten them to make sure they are at spec I don’t understand why but that’s what they call for hope it helps!👍🏻
So the retorque is for anti cross thread and seising due to heat, we do it a ton in the Aviation mechanic field. It also helps seat the wheel a lil more snug so there isn’t any chance of like debris causing gap.
@21:50 Not sure for porsche but as a fighter jet crew chief we have "center lock" gear and you tighten the nut to "seat" the wheel then back off and re torque it to spec to ensure an even seat all around.
So gotta break the news, I've been on a TJ Hunt hiatus for the past2 years. And i just returned to watch this video and I am blown away! The quality and art of this video was amazing. Great job dude.
I’m a Porsche tech at New Country Porsche and yes it’s 444ftbs then losses 90 degrees then re tighten with the car off the ground. Btw love the content huge fan!!!
This is so nice. Love to watch video with your RS. I owned a 991.1 GT3 before. I learned that it will be better to torque the center lock with the car fully off the ground and torque it upwards. Just recommendation😁
Looks gangster 💪🏼💪🏼 just personal opinion rear would look so much better with a 335 tire .fronts on the money rear looks a little stretched but I loved the wheel option you nailed it 👌👌 been a watching sens BRZ exhaust video 🤝
I believe I've seen one 991 GT3 RS running these same wheels around Orange County (Black 3 RS w/ black wheels) and I always thought that the only way I would ever change out the stock wheels on a 3 RS would be for these. Nicely done
You should make a small metal box with its own valve stem, put 4 tpms sensors in it that have been linked with the chassis, and pressurize the box to whatever PSI won’t trigger the light, and secure it somewhere in or on the car. Drag racing trick for ya
While not a fan of BBS wheels, I can appreciate their quality and why people like the style of these. Both forms of the lip look incredible. On paper, I'd have said the gold faces with yellow calipers would look gaudy, but it actually works really well. Congrats on your new wheels and look, Teej!
I work at a shop in Indiana, we service 918's, Carrera GT's, 3RS's, 2RS's and loads more. Can confirm the weird tighten and then loosen and then tighten again, is in fact true lol.
This is where I saw vin from Hoonigan rant on about that HYTORC Porsche Centerlock Wheel Torque Gun he has..... its insane how well it does the job.... might be worth the investment
yes thats a true procedure, porsche tech at westlake, you loosen it 90 degrees to help with pressures and to confirm proper torque, WHAT YOU MESSED UP ON is your CANNOT tighten them while wheel is on the ground, has to be in the air for center locks....
Perfect choice ! So glad you worked with Ron "King Chotch" doesn't this make you think, how much better the piano black 34 would look on contrasting wheels ?
TJ you may or may not know this but the center lock socket is stored in the frunk underneath the plastic liner!! If it came with one and you didn’t know it would be there and obviously if not then you can store the new one there
Porsche torques the wheels to 440 ft lbs to seat the wheel bearing, then you back it off to get the proper torque of the wheel nut once the wheel bearing is seated.
Aside from the re-torque rules brought up, im fairly sure you MUST torque with the wheels off the ground. I just randomly came across a video explaining this from one of the dudes who works at hoonigan with a Porsche.
It blows my mind that TJ doesn't buy wheels new. He wanted these wheels so bad but didn't just get them straight from the company, made for his car. I've only bought new wheels so this was a big surprise to me, especially putting them on a $200k+ car
Should always break center lock while the vehicle is lifted. One person in the driver seat to depress the brakes to hold the wheel while the lock is being broken. This takes the weight of the car off the center lock and preserve the wheel hub.
Not sure about porsche but I work at a lamborghini dealership where I've torqued many center lock and have not heard about turning the torque wrench back 90 degrees
THEY LITERALLY MAKE A INPACT WITH THE TOOL THAT HAS A BUILT IN TORQUE SPEC SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS PROCESS, IT PRESSES IN THE SAFETY CATCH AS WELL AS LOCKING IT TO THE RIM SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIT ON THE BRAKES!!! MUST BUY!!!!
The torque to 600nm(444ftlbs) is right and backing 90 degrees and retightening is right. It’s so the conical center lock is seated completely flush. Porsche tech here. Was about to say all of this! Perfect instructions and yes! Make sure the centre lock pin is all the way out!
Same here, car must always be in the air, always hold the steering wheel so you don't punch a dent in your fenders
@andrewkennedy5702 hahaha yep that's a key on. Those fenders get close!
Hey Teej.

more gt3 videos
The GT3RS is freaking beautiful. The UV purple with the gold E89 is so good.
E89s are classic looking so glad they made it on the gt3rs
They aren't staying though. He will be putting lms on later
man, i havent watched the vlogs in about a year, forgot how much i missed watching them and just watching teej be happy. Brings me happiness seeing bro win, he deserves all of it. Love you TJ, gonna start chiming in again
Some clear side markers would match the tails so nicely
TJ been upping his game hard, loving the crew behind him aswell, well deserved T

As a tech working in the aerospace industry, seeing you guys play with compressed air like that raises all kinds of red flags
May I ask why? (Genuinely curious)
@mels_life1 force an eye from its socket
rupture the lungs, stomach and intestines, if blown into the mouth
penetrate human skin and if it enters the blood stream that air can be fatal by causing a heart attack
puncture an ear drum and cause deafness
blast poisonous particles into your body (where they immediately combine with your blood) if you have been painting or are covered with dirt or soot

@@macbook802 true but at the same time it’s the same for the magnesium racing Porsche wheels we get fairly often 0:42
It’s more because of the center locking design that Porsche uses not the type of wheel
glad to be a part of the broadcast channel and be able to see stuff beforehand
So the retorque is for anti cross thread and seising due to heat, we do it a ton in the Aviation mechanic field. It also helps seat the wheel a lil more snug so there isn’t any chance of like debris causing gap.
The RS actually looks insane with those wheels. Good choice my friend. Possibly the best spec’d RS I’ve seen
I've been watching since the days in Calvin's garage. This is the best looking car you've had. #keepmovingforward
TJ, you shouldn't break the center lock nut loose on the ground, always in the air with someone holding the brake pedal.
Wheels look great!
Looks Great! Should match the spoiler uprights to the wheels...and seat belt bar...if you are going to do that. Love it man
These are the ultimate wheels for any porshe in my humble opinion every porshe should have this style of wheel
@21:50 Not sure for porsche but as a fighter jet crew chief we have "center lock" gear and you tighten the nut to "seat" the wheel then back off and re torque it to spec to ensure an even seat all around.
As a German and an GT3RS Fan, i do approve this beautiful piece of art. 🔥
So gotta break the news, I've been on a TJ Hunt hiatus for the past2 years. And i just returned to watch this video and I am blown away! The quality and art of this video was amazing. Great job dude.
9K people voted LM’s over the E89’s on the insta broadcast channel 😭😭 toughhh man lol
He just posted on there and said “89s….for now😉”
LM’s incoming

BBS gang, so perfect on the GT3RS 23:56 my god
Looks gangster 💪🏼💪🏼 just personal opinion rear would look so much better with a 335 tire .fronts on the money rear looks a little stretched but I loved the wheel option you nailed it 👌👌 been a watching sens BRZ exhaust video 🤝
100%, the rear needs a more square look sidewall. The stretched look throws it off
I believe I've seen one 991 GT3 RS running these same wheels around Orange County (Black 3 RS w/ black wheels) and I always thought that the only way I would ever change out the stock wheels on a 3 RS would be for these. Nicely done
Wheels are fukin dope ! The sad face after"My butt hurts" is priceless. 16:29
the reason for tightening to 440ftlbs backing off and retensioning is to properrly seat the wheel to the hub before final setting is applied
You should make a small metal box with its own valve stem, put 4 tpms sensors in it that have been linked with the chassis, and pressurize the box to whatever PSI won’t trigger the light, and secure it somewhere in or on the car. Drag racing trick for ya
Or just have them deactivated
looks so good teej!!!!!!! keep moving forward bro im so stoked for everything
While not a fan of BBS wheels, I can appreciate their quality and why people like the style of these. Both forms of the lip look incredible. On paper, I'd have said the gold faces with yellow calipers would look gaudy, but it actually works really well. Congrats on your new wheels and look, Teej!
Just reading the title from my notifications I was thinking BBS LMs, but these are even better than I thought! Congrats man!
You can’t beat that combo!
Straight 🔥
Thank you for not going with more HRE’s, I know y’all have nothing but love for them but it’s nice to see something different
The clear tail lights looks so good on the car now with the new wheels🔥 The amber side markers gotta go tho🤮
The nicest car you have man I love it, can't get enough of the RS
I love how twan is more to the team than a camera man
Perfect look for Porsche cant go wrong with bbs
I had a stressful day… so I was like, I’ll catch up on some TJ Hunt. Delivered 🥂
…then was like, this has to have a hidden scene… yup ❤
7:10 ''Here's what it looks like...'' *no picture* 😂
😂 tj poppin a woody sittin in the chair with Calvin like "um yeah I like that design…"
Meh, I think the stock looked better 🤷♂🤷♂
The stock wheels on these cars look awesome.
The ride height is perfect. It will settle a little when driven. OEM+
I work at a shop in Indiana, we service 918's, Carrera GT's, 3RS's, 2RS's and loads more. Can confirm the weird tighten and then loosen and then tighten again, is in fact true lol.
"Those are kind of cool " Tj sounded exactly as Calvin when he said that 😂😂
Love the vids teej been watching ur channel for 5 years now. Never a dull moment! 🤘

Bruh honestly that ride height is solid asf. Car is an absolute beauty Teej.
Twon's gran turismo style edits are suuuper sick!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love these BBS 😍 it looks so great with the combination of colors!
“Hey man. That’s kind of cool” impression had me rolling.. it doesn’t sound anything like Calvin but still hilarious
TJ thanks for your amazing videos and can’t wait to see the M4 GT3 update and the OG Skyline R34
BBS on Porsches are soo clean 10-10
solid choice! BBS a classic forever
I’m glad TJ finally got a set of BBS wheels. I feel like him putting HREs on everything was starting to become a cliche.
This is where I saw vin from Hoonigan rant on about that HYTORC Porsche Centerlock Wheel Torque Gun he has..... its insane how well it does the job.... might be worth the investment

doesn't this make you think, how much better the piano black 34 would look on contrasting wheels ?
Twans right the centre locks on Porsches get torqued down then turned back 90 degrees and retorqued. That's the correct way of doing it
The 458 build was one of the best TH-cam builds of all time. That is all.
Mannnn the whips on this channel are so nice! What a life man!
Need the clear side reflectors now to match the taillights
Glad you like them because that is more important than anything. The black is best though! Should have left it alone.
@26:50 I almost thought that was a smoke detector low battery 🪫 sound but I remember that’s only our thing. 😂
Gold and purple is always the move! Love it!
Car looks amazing dude, congrats. The motorsport wheels just hit different. BBS's are amazing.
Love the GT3 RS it looks amazing 👏 nice one...fantastic job.
We all love you and the team Teej.
Who else loves when tj posts
Knew you'd go with the E89s Stay Classy!
Aside from the re-torque rules brought up, im fairly sure you MUST torque with the wheels off the ground. I just randomly came across a video explaining this from one of the dudes who works at hoonigan with a Porsche.
If you use a jackstand to support the extension it will help you tighten that easier
These are awesome! These would look even better if the rear tire size was increased to a meatier size.
It blows my mind that TJ doesn't buy wheels new. He wanted these wheels so bad but didn't just get them straight from the company, made for his car. I've only bought new wheels so this was a big surprise to me, especially putting them on a $200k+ car
Convex face wheels on a supercar are craaaaazy lol anything convex just reminds me some some Canadian tire specials. Brutal 😂
i’m getting hyped for the videos again good job tj
“If it slips,you don’t need them” 🤣🤣🤣
The best wheels for any car
Any vehicle looks good with E88's.
Best looking Porsche. Perfect this style gt3 over the new ones out
Should always break center lock while the vehicle is lifted. One person in the driver seat to depress the brakes to hold the wheel while the lock is being broken. This takes the weight of the car off the center lock and preserve the wheel hub.
It’s a very loud car all around now. It’s definitely 1:1. Well done!
lets see a vlog featuring Kev doing a photoshoot of the GT3RS
Not sure about porsche but I work at a lamborghini dealership where I've torqued many center lock and have not heard about turning the torque wrench back 90 degrees
Hey Teej..quick question....if you had to get rid of all of your vehicles and ONLY keep 3..what would they be?!?
In the off-chance he sees this my bet is Miley, R34, and either this gt3rs or a future 992 gt3rs lol
I’d keep the RS, 34 and mk4 Supra 😊
@@tjhunt_ wasn’t expecting the supra but I’m honestly not surprised lol, that’s awesome👍
I kinda figured the rs and the 34 but I didn't think the othe would be the supra!.BTW thanks for answering! Your a G! Keep killing it!
Camera man said since you (TJ) ain’t giving me CREDIT..don’t worry I got myself on this one 7:03 😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this episode!! Half hunt half clips vibe 👌👌
My boy you are missing the BBS stickers now. Beautiful combination.
AR Motorwerkz stays making whips fire
very nice goes w the purple big improvement on the black wheels that disappear against the violet
Stuff that no one else knows >>>
That brings a whole new perspective to a rim job😂
At the end of the Anthony NEEDS to make a compilation of all the quotes from the videos 😂😂
Not TJ straddling Kuya’s seat in the end 😭😭😭
Looks sick, probably one of the best I’ve seen
And another small mod to tie it all in would be yellow gt3 rs stickers on the side
