Respect to an artist that's so tied into the feel of albums still. Illmatic wouldn't have been the same record to me if I had heard some of the songs leaked like the internet does today. And not running to radio tied producer - keeping to self. Sounds like Cole has a damn firm grip on the way allot of us think the game should be.
i am DYEINGGGGG to hear this shit.... Cole has an amazing way of connecting with his fans. He shows that he himself is a huge fan of this Rap shit, and he wants to give everyone what he was looking for when he was younger. BIG UP
@alessandreezy @converseshoeboy our apologize to the fans who didn't want to hear it! since its our favorite song we wanted to share a bit of it to give fans a taste. like Cole mentioned in the interview for those that have heard it, its good to share their excitement with others cause it helps build the anticipation for the album. for those of u that are waiting for album to drop to hear it, you have our RESPECT! at the end of the day we are on the same team. COLEWORLD -THE SIDELINE STORY 9/27
Very much so, his mixtape "Before The Come Up" (Where the "The Storm" is on; on Datpiff) has a consistent amount of tracks where he sounds like him in an incredible fashion.
im loving cole...I hope he makes collabs with Cla Dice soon..Im loving cla dice new single "miami way". but cole is one of my favorite artist,im still waitng on hiis next album.
@hiphopfan180 The song that samples Reflection Eternal's Ballad of the Black Gold is called Return of Simba by J. Cole. It's been out for weeks already.
It’s the what if part that gets me every time I think about Cole putting out FNL as an album instead of a mixtape. Don’t get me wrong I love Sideline Story and I think that album has some amazing songs on there, but the emotional attachment that I have with FNL is quite heavy and I feel Cole would’ve had a classic debut album with FNL, like Kendrick with GKMC. The question of how many classic studio albums does Cole have wouldn’t even exist because FNL would be undeniably a classic studio album in Cole’s catalog followed by 2014 FHD. Some think that Cole don’t even have 1 classic studio album, regardless of the success that FHD had. Me personally, I think that FHD is his classic album, but I often throw FNL in there too even though I know it’s a mixtape, but with album qualities.
Work Out is getting spins on the radio. Once the video is released it'll REALLY take off. His second single, produced by Danja, will be a BIG hit. Cole World.
Songs always get leaked. The only way you can stop that shit is to keep those tracks locked up in the studio and not dropping it till the day it's time for it to be heard. But even then your songs get leaked. Just something you can't stop.
if u send an album or song to a radio station or what ever to promote your song or album, then it could happen that the song or album get leaked by someone of the ppl who work at the radiostation.
@hardknocktv i appreciate these interviews, best in a long time, but like many other Cole fans I've been purposefully avoiding listening to Lost Ones. Just can't understand the logic of using the song, especially after you specifically talked to him in person about how much he hates leaks! I'm pretty sure if you'd asked Cole during this interview if you could post a snippet of Lost Ones, even 5 seconds of it, in the video he wouldn't have liked it. Apart from that great interview.
When i realized i was hearing Lost Ones, i immediately pressed pause and screamed "F**K". and didn't finish watching the interview. COLE WORLD: THE SIDELINE STORY SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2011.
@missedmystep i have been sayin for the last 2 months that big sean, kendrick lamar, and j cole is the future of hip-hop.. 2 down, now ready for j cole to do his thing.. much more promising for hip hop than the past couple years
Yo, that's truth!! "Cole World" is something mediocre; The Sideline Story made it perfect. At first I didn't like it and I thought it should be just "Cole World" but now I GET IT!!
@shahinur95 Personally, I hate when I hear random snippets of songs before the album is released. The artist probably wants you to hear the album from beginning to end; the way it was intended to be heard. Leaks could also result in less sales. I know people who will just download a crapload of leaked songs and not buy the album. And I'm sure it's annoying when your stuff gets leaked and people say "it sucks" when it is actually an unfinished/unpolished track.
@Desmond3597 because the interviews ARE actually good. but i admit it was harsh comment, but true cole fans would understand me when i say I was pissed coz I had been purposefully avoiding listening to lost ones!
One of the few rappers that actually self produce well
Lost Ones ALWAYS gives me the chills.. The song is definitely the realest song I have heard in a long ass time..
Damn Cole sounded like a young Em on that track ..
Yeah he did
He says that in his interviews lately cause everyone thinks He took shots at em, He said "man my first song sounded like an eminem bite" lol
@kvothug Its called THE STORM its the first song Cole wrote and produced at age of 15.
