On my 2004 Titan, there are indexing holes in the belt tensioner that allow it to be pinned in the released position. The index holes are shown in the 2004 service manual at page EM-12. So the steps I followed are move tensioner to release position with socket and breaker bar, insert pin (I used an allen wrench) through index holes, remove breaker bar, remove old belt, install new belt, reattach socket and breaker bar, remove pin from index holes, allow tensioner to move to tension belt, remove socket and breaker bar.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My 2005 also has this indexing hole. I found the largest allen wrench that would fit the stationary holen(the one not on the pulley piece). Using this saved me so much time and back pain. I hope I remember how to do this in 15 years.

I’m working on a 2020 seems like Nissan hasn’t changed much other than raising the price on the same product, I’m changing mine just because of mileage and I don’t want to end up on the side of the road with a broken belt, it’s inexpensive and fairly easy to replace
do you know where I can find a how to change alternator video on this vehicle??
I have 2008 armada. trying to figure out how to put on the belt.(after replacing alternator). so I have everything righting down really tight but when I go to put the belt on, tensioner pully last there isn't enough slack to put the belt on. how do you get the tensioner to push down so the belt can can placed over it
I'm going to assume that the tensioner also had 220k on it. Did you feel comfortable leaving the old tensioner with a new belt? Also the idler pulley?
The Titan has the belt diagram right under the hood no need for a diagram on the package
so what was the problem with that belt??? why you replaced??
Say did you change it cause it was making a squeaking noise? Mine just started and it seems to stop when it warms up. Getting a lot of mixed reviews.
Changed due to old age.
The dealer tried to sell me a new one at under 60K mi. My '14 belt looked fine to me.
Louis Healan keep the old one for a spare.
trade it for a tundra
