Great video !! Thanks alot for sharing. That call lure you made the other day, would that work for fox ? Also what would you add to make fox lure with glands and how long do you let age before you add sodium benzoate ? I am going to try and make my own bait and lure this year. And get the call lure from you if it works for fox.. Great videos you put out !!!
Hey Chip, Thanks! The LDC lure will work for fox. It's a general predator call lure. You will want to use it in combination with bait or another lure to get the fox to work the set though. It's very skunky and designed for cool conditions, say up to 40 or 50 degrees. Lots to discuss on gland lures, I hope to cover that in an upcoming podcast episode.
That is alto of tonquin an Muscro.....that will over power our glands..in a pint of lure I use fixatives buy the drops.less is better.found that it the hard way
You're absolutely right! I didn't have a lot of glands and tried to bump up the volume with more musk. It does overpower the glands. But for my objective I think it will still get the job done and provide some extra calling power. Next batch: more glands and less musk!
If you makeing a pine start our with two or three drops, some other good fixatives for those critters your after is canton muck c12.it is great in cold weather an is one of my favorites also bear tail oil is punchy and gives the lure a good call also good aged trout oil is great different than any fish oil out there, not a fishy smell but a punchy sharp smell.JR an Sons also has great lure ingredients as does Trappers Art both have quality stuff nothing cut..give those I I said a look you will be surprised by the smells and how the push your dominet odor..be making lure for 18 year..
good stuff .. I'll keep that in mind..

Great advice, thanks!
Your muscaro probably had tonquin in it already ! Why not a little anise or skunk oil ??? Your blend should tear up coyote/fox !!!

bto silver vine and castor makes a great cat lure...
