But the thing is that the original story of Hollywood in Kannada was also something else (not like comical one which got released) but due to change in director and other things everything changed. Apart from that coming back to your question, when Hollywood concept was happening, director Murali Mohan for some CG work contacted technician from Chennai for Hollywood movie (but this concept didn't take off as I said above) later same technician called by Shankar and explained the same concept which was earlier told by Murali Mohan. After that that technician told Murali Mohan about the incident. Then Murali Mohan went to Chennai and discussed with Shankar about this and both come to conclusion to do it by both of them. Unfortunately that concept movie didn't happen and happened something else. You can see the Murali Mohan interview in Gaurish Akki Studio TH-cam channel to know more about this

As I observed Kannada audience somewhere have inferiority complex that Kannada movies are bad or remakes. So people won't encourage good Kannada movies. They even tease new concepts. When somebody else remake that movie or take it as inspiration and make movie then people realise Kannada movies were good. But again same thing..eg: when Hollywood movie released many said it's unrealistic movie and didn't encourage that concept of making. But when Shanker did Robo movIe then everyone started saying Kannada Industry great. It's how going on. Even I feel that Kannada audience wouldn't have accepted KGF movie if at all it didn't get craze in other languages. Dia movie was promoted more in Telugu pages. In my college days there was a girl who always hated Kannada mOvies and Kannada Industry. She always was praising Telugu movies. Above all she's pure Kannadiga with Kannada mother tongue. I many times had clashes with that girl who was teasing and disrespecting Kannada film industry. On the other side Hindi walas also was looking you down for playing Kannada movie Jackie's song Shiva Anta hoguttidde..If you like Kannada movie you are a outdated person in a community and people look at you like a weird species! I like good movies in all languages whether it's small screen or Silver Screen. I have never hesitated to express my love for it. But being a Bangalorean those moments the people looked you down for singing Kannada song hurted me a lot. But I call myself as I am proud Kannadiga and I like all good Kannada movies even though my mother tongue is not Kannada.

As i felt from before the only difference from our director to other industries is exceution ,many times our concepts, stories will be good and different but lack of executing and fail u might have seen same template commercial stories in telugu but a different execution again becomes big hit , Maybe through experience and filmmaking classes other industries gained executing knowledge look at our i think 90% of kannada industry(literally all including top directors) doesn't attend proper film training classes and experience .
