Hi, do you find that raising the bite posteriorly with an occlusal splint leads to molar intrusion and an adverse effect on the overbite?

No Dr, especially in this case where the patient presents weak masticatory muscles.

Thank you for the reply. May I ask how you determined the masticatory muscles to be weak? Was it the increased FMPA?@@gustavogameiro937

Yes, this is one variable that indicate the patient does not have strong muscles. But I'd not be afraid of posterior intrusion, because the splint is not used for a significant amount of time.
