Echizen City in Fukui Prefecture is a famous Japanese paper "Washi" production area.
Washi is an indispensable piece of paper that I usually use to draw Japanese paintings.
Unlike Western paper, Washi is a very important traditional craft that is very strong and can be preserved for more than 1,000 years.
In order to make Washi of good quality and beautiful texture, careful work is required one by one.
The first place I visited was a shrine dedicated to the god of paper.
It is a prestigious place with a long history of 1500 years.

Then, I visited a Japanese paper factory!
The staff at Yamatsugi Washi Studio taught me various things about washi.
    Thank you, everyone!

Subtitles for the whole explanation from the paper artisan would be amazing, even more with the technical detail.
