With LX10, you can mount ND or polarizer filter with adapter by Lensmate (52mm) or Magfilter (52 or 55mm).

you can actually get a third-party ND filter mount which you glue to the outer side of the lens and it fits even when the lens are retracted with no problem. There's a video for it on YT, there are 2 manufacturers who supply similar designs. You can get a polarizer too for it

Great review, I wanted to mention that is very easy to make your ND filter adapter. I made one last week and it looks great ahard to tell if it wasn't genuine. it cost me just under £5 . All I needed is a 49-52mm stepper ring double sided tape and some diy skills

I would also add a little tripod stand to screw into the base of the gimbal and the remote cable for your camera to plug into the gimbal. You can even use the Zhiyun Crane to do motion timelapse.

I was surprised you didn’t mention the a6500 or rx100 series. That is until I saw the price. That’s key to these small rigs. It makes the shooter less afraid of getting it into sticky situations to get the right shot. Thanks for the info, dudes! 👍

There are lots of alternative setups that are useful but this one is our favorite. In total this setup is less than 1000 USD so it's also cheaper than most other combos.

Not sure if you generally focus solely on video functionality and performance but I'd have liked to hear a bit about the stills performance and how fast/slow it is to write RAW files. My current Nikon P330 is glacial in this respect and am looking for an alternative, including this and the RX 100 iii.

If the subject is close enough you have few problems. If the background is contrasty and confusing the focus can drift sometimes. It's the same with any camera on auto-focus.

Nice review, do not forget to mention the lens flare. For the lx15 same as older lx100. Gives a flare in allot of mine footage, no solution Panasonic. Google for yourself before buying. Also using the same crane, using this combo in converted mode means that the gimbal is not perfectly aligned. It would be great to know how this is done in this video.

I've got a Sony RX100 II and I find the buttons to be small and maybe too cramped for my large hands. I think the main thing going against the LX10 and for the RX100 II is that the LX10 is thicker; a few mm makes a big difference when you want a pocketable camera. Other than that, I admit I'd probably be better off with LX10 but now that I've got the Sony, I have to happy with what I've got. I could still sell it for about 300 and get at least some of my money back. I really regret not getting a 4k camera. But at least I know that Sony has great sensor characteristics such as dynamic range and color.

  • @arcadia449

I have issues with the ON/OFF switch on the LX15 (LX10), which is badly located. It often activates by accident when packed in a small case in my pocket.

I have the LX 10 and crane M.

Good video. Just curious how did you managed to get daylight shots without a ND filter - cranked up the shutter speed? And the 1080p60 quality of the LX10 (for slow motion), is it good? (I have the LX100 and the GX85 and their 1080p60 modes are not good)

Not having a microphone input can be a huge issue if you need to capture proper audio which is something that we don't rely on with those kind of point-and-shoot models.

    • @RideWithRahulOfficial

Sony does have the over heating problem, I cover long events where it would fail but for short film type shots, even an RX100 mark 3 or 4 would be very good. But personally I would just get the G80 from Panasonic at that price and if you want point and shoot also get the GX85.

  • @tereimiklos3907

Hi! Does zooming in/out change the balance of the gimbal, as the lense is going in/out from the camera? Am I right that some of these shots were either stabilized in post or you used a different equipment like slider or jib? When using such a small gimbal, there is always a bit of "wobbling" coming from your arms - the footage is stabilized, but the foreground would wobble a bit. It was "unnaturally" stable at some of your shots (at 2'07" or 3'15" for example).

Anyone owning that camera had a trouble with the sound the camera makes? It sounds like a ventilation from the inside. Only when the lens is out. Some says the noise comes from the stabilisation or autofocus, but it sounds very noisy to be just that?
I just got that camera and I've had an hybrid one for years without any sound like that.
I might sound dumb but I'd really like to know if it is a normal thing.
