Hey Zack! Many thanks for a solid, honest, review. Since I just noticed that my SMAN3 has died from battery cancer, I've been looking for a replacement digital manifold (I know...should take the damn batteries out at the end of a season). I kind of agree that digital isn't a necessity, but hey...as I get older I find it sure is convenient to know where your subcool or superheat is with just a glance. So, I just got finished ordering a new Testo 550 from TruTech Tools. Your 8% off sure is nice too. With any luck, at my age, this one should last as long as I'll be needing a manifold...and for $244 (with free postage) you can't beat the price with a stick.
Just picked up a set of these. I’m used to field piece small gauges, but they are too expensive and I’ve had too many issues with them. MyQ HVAC has a good app for these.
I would never ever buy field piece manifolds they leak through the sight glass and then they don't wanna repair them under warranty. The repair costs as much or almost as much as a brand new set of gages
If a Tech has to worry about what a set a manifolds weigh, then he must be a limp wristed homosexual or a woman trying to get into this field. I can understand needing to know what a hand gun weighs cuz your carrying concealed all day long. Please

FYI, the 549 doesn't have bluetooth and pipe clamps. I believe the testo manifolds also have the best warranty (5yr).
Good review Mr. Zack
Thanks sir

These are a great entry level set, even better when paired with the app.

Seems like a good first set of gauges for me.
this was one hell of a review
Great video
👍
550 vs 557 whats the difference?
At 3:48 it isn't vacuum. You set the current barometer pressure there to get a more accurate reading.
what is the difference btwn testo 549 vs 550?
Bluetooth
What app did you use for your testo 550s?
I think it is called Testo refrigeration
Good vid.
Can the device be updated for future refrigerants?
It says it can but mine never updated to it cuz there's no more updates for freon
Nice honest review
