Really? I've got several parcels and a few cut stones of peridot and none of them have ever glowed under short or long wave UV.... Is it because they are from this specific area? Because my crystals are from international buyers. Thank you mate

I live in Michigan, in America; and found a rather large peridot specimen on the river bank while prospecting. I brought it to a jeweler who thought that it was peridot, which surprised him that I found it here. This is the first specimen found in this state. Would like to send pictures to you if possible to see what you think about it, it is much larger than the ones in your video. Great video, thank you.

I had thought of selling some of these in the future for "Fun value". Recently, someone told me that one can't send any unprocessed rocks to the States. Something to do with quarantine. Only cut stones or cabochons are allowed. Don't know if that's the case.

Yeah, alot of 10 year olds think this has something to do with Steven Universe. They dont know that peridot, and other gems exist. Such as bismuth, aquarine, jasper, and peridot excist.

Top grade rough Peridot price starts from $3/carat. The bigger the piece the more expensive it gets. Good luck with your collection and i hope you get to visit Australia one day.

Australia is a big country with lots of places where one can find good gemstones. First, may I suggest you google fossicking for gemstones in Australia and you'll find a lot of open to the public places where anyone can go and still find a lot of good gems. You'll just have to decide which "State" you'd want to visit first and from there, find the names of towns and research what gems can be found at that specific place. If you're referring to the Quarry Boys pushing the rocks, yes. This is beneficial for the economy for the whole town to have tourist come and prospect for free. This way they spend their money on accommodation, fuel, food, etc.

The value of the stones vary from it's size. What I consider "Bigger Ones" are from 5 carats upwards when faceted. If I factor in the 4 C's, then the value can range upwards of $60/carat.
Just leave some Doritos and Mountain Dew for peridot and that's how us find peridot, ITS QUICK AND EASY! :D
We were supposed to only stay for 2 days but ended up staying for 4 days. I did not want to leave as i wanted to gather more...LOL So much fun and planning to go back there again soon.

YES!!! Anyone can just go to the Moyne Shire Council Office at Mortlake, so they can let the Quarry Boys know you're coming, fill up an indemnity form and then one can go to the quarry to do some FREE prospecting.
