My Dad made this decision back in 1970. We went to Mass only when a Latin Mass could be found. If none was available, we stayed home and read the missal readings, prayed the Rosary, etc. Over the years, most of us left off religion altogether. Now, I’m the only one of nine who goes to Mass, when I’m able to do the 2 1/2 hour drive.
What is going on man? How can you possibly "bless" two individuals who are willingly living a sinful life? I am a Catholic, but I feel embarrassed to see the very church I am proud of to be in such unprecedented position ever. Anyway, I strongly believe God will renew His church one time! 🙏
They are questioning Fr Waller’s claim to celibacy hinting that he has a special friend -read boyfriend. Gavin was being sarcastic about ex anglicans leaving the gay relationships behind when they entered the Catholic Church. It is to scandalise the church. If there is evidence then it should be published. Hints and rumours are not enough.
Face Truth. In short, this priest is demonstrating that he may know about God, about the Gospel, about the priesthood, but he doesn’t know God as the Way, the Truth and the Way, ignores and does not believe in the Word of God, and decided to remove himself from his vows. He responds to the kingdom of the world. Here we go again!

"“And now, you priests, this warning is for you. If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the LORD Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me." - Malachi 2:1-2
I disagree with Mark's statement "Thank God for that" made in reference to Tucho's statement that Francis is not going to make any ex cathedra pronouncements. The Holy Spirit guarantees the truth of ex cathedra statements. Such statements would have to be orthodox (if he is pope). That would be a blessing. The problem with Francis is that he says nothing ex cathedra yet requires that what he says be treated as true. I found Gavin's remarks about David Waller just as "exciting" as Katherine and Mark did. Gavin enriches the Catholic world with his vicar-like sensitivity of expression with phrases like "intimate masculine friendship that so marked the Anglo-Catholic church", "he is DESCRIBED as a celibate, so that's a very good thing", "God bless him and all his friends, in particular his SPECIAL ONES".
Gavin is not only one of the most articulate men I've ever heard ( especially online) but also he is really funny ( as you observe). It makes for a tremendous combination
@@alan-muscatYes I found this sniggering quite unedifying. To leave this in unedited seems quite unprofessional and will not win Unscripted any new friends in the Ordinariate even if the innuendo is accurate.
Orthodox here. The ex-cathedra thing is just a coping mechanism if you ask me. The Pontifical Monarchy doesn't need any ex-cathedra declaration to alter deeply the faith. In fact, until the 19th century and the dogma of infallibility ex-cathedra was not required.
The priest knows very well what he’s doing is not in line with FS document and he’s doing it on purpose. FS is clear that spontaneous blessing is given but never a set wedding. He needs confession and retirement from his duties.
The clear insanity of FS is that it speaks of SS couples seeking a blessing to end their relationship. Who TF in their right mind, gay straight or otherwise is going to look at their spouse / SO and say "let's get a blessing from the church that we break up". That document and the spin to justify it was the final straw for me remaining catholic.
Brilliant analysis by Marc on Wilmer and Fernandez and then on Bergoglio being all about power and his self will. Just think about a sweet sounding always on about love Pope and then having him push through his solely and oh so very own idea about the Church with a will of iron all the while God telling him through his body that even his very legs wont carry him any further. It is frankly disgusting to see that absolute fake old ideologist strutting himself up under the name of the most humble and poor bird preaching saint. What an abomination for all to see.
Someone thought they were blessing a union...fact is, God not only doesn't bless it, but nite, too the couple and person "blessing" will only deepen their condemnation. There is no wedding.
The Vincentians in Chicago run DePaul University. Given the rebelliousness of Catholic Universities I'm not surprised. The schools mission statement includes the stale woke buzzwords and phrases: Inclusivity, personalism, professionalism, dignity of all members of its diverse, multi-faith, and inclusive community. The university addresses significant societal questions, promoting peaceful, just, and equitable solutions to social and environmental challenges.
Really don't know why we keep saying why do they say this and why do they do that? I think we know why it's obvious they won't two destroy the church of Jesus Christ and they are entering into a time when it's visible that they approve sin in the name of Jesus, they approve sin Publicly in our Catholic Church and mock the death and resurrection of Jesus to lead us out of sin into who were created to be in the beginning in union with our God
There is one good result of all this rubbish: the last 60 years of Papal mismanagement, false doctrine & scandal have utterly destroyed the Ultramontane fantasy that haunted the Church from 1815 to 1965, according to which the Popes were, & should be, totally beyond criticism. To call that fantasy remote from the truth, is the understatement of the millennium. Maybe it is time for another Reformation, a Catholic, Christian, anti-Roman one, free of Popes & their garbage.
Will there be a Catholic Unscripted protest outside Westminster Cathedral or nearby ref Fiducia Supplicans at David Waller’s consecration and the presence of Tucho Fernandez…?(!)
Funny about GA's papers winding up in Vietnam. I guess the Italian/Vatican post is as unreliable as always. When I was a seminarian in Rome in the 70's, the order I belonged to had all their international mail driven up to Switzerland by a laybrother once a week, 10 hour drive one way, to make sure the letters got through. Although in GA's case, there may have been human will involved. Romanita.
Fiducia Supplicans in practice is a rejection of a teaching of the Catholic Faith, as Cardinal Muller wrote. Fraternal correction is the only remedy as St. Paul did with St. Peter until a future Pope gives Francis the Honorious treatment.
Realising "Catholic" is not what one may "become" (Ashenden) but what one may do in a role as a helper of the family helps understanding of FS as on the reference point of Mary exercising an absolute power of her consecrated marriages (Lk 1:38; Mt 1: 24) to authorise combining of these helper roles in withstanding role embezzlements and identity fraud consequent on grooming with this inducement to "become" separating role and identity.
A silent and praying Pope that is exactly what we need. A calm strong silent modest wise Pope who sits out our global madness with us and then tells us how to start again as if there had not been a couple of twisted wilfull children at the helm at all. I am confident if we survive the argentinians we will even receive the grace to forget their very names
The ordinary form of the mass is the form that the Church approved for use among about 95% of the faithful, bear that in mind when you giggle about it, please.
In regard to papal dismissal, this is treading upon dangerous ground. The letter requesting dismissal creates, if anything, a firm public record of Pope Francis' actions as Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. One could rightfully say, that as Catholics, the faithful have a right to "withdraw...from obedience and loyalty..." of such a Roman Pontiff (Council of Lateran V [16 February, 1513] Session V). However, this remains uncharted territory for the Church and no Council or Pope has declared doctrine on what to do in such a case. As great as Sts. Bellarmine, Liguori, De Sales and others, are for the Church, or even doctors of the Church, they are not infallible, and they cannot speak with the full authority of the Authentic Magisterium, De Fide. Pope Paul IV comes very close in Cum ex Apostolatus Officio (1559) but this speaks to election "...prior to his promotion or elevation as Cardinal or Roman Pontiff..." not ex post facto. No, this is the duty of Cardinals/Bishops coming together as a united Magisterium to address the issue. No one else on the planet can say otherwise; this is not a political appointment, he is not a CEO. Resist, pray, and wait...otherwise, Pope Francis is the Pope until he is not the Pope.
His Holiness has appointed more than 2/3 of voting Cardinals. It is more likely the next pope will be more like he is than representative of a step backwards. Being open to the Holy Spirit prepares us for surprises. The only certainty is that there will be more.
Blatant heresy on all fronts from within the Catholic Church. Just as was foretold. The righteous must stay firm and remain true to Christ and His Gospel.
Clearly James Martin is NOT to be called FATHER as is stated in the bible. How do you know this is a Catholic priest? Have you got his name? If so it needs to be made known to the authorities of the church as it is not what the document even allowed for...
Of course we all knew the letter of it would be violated. Crickets from Rome, no punishment for the offender. As long as they tow the Bergolian party line.
It does but it cracks the door open to it… lets be honest the burn is slow evil never changes it immediately so you don’t see it, just like communion in the hand, altar girls, etc etc that’s taken 50+ years, in 5-10 years this will be the normal
This is why I stopped watching TH-cam, why do we have to keep fighting with each other?! It's a shame that this issue is becoming the core message in every church now. However, if the Catholic Church was actually united and good then I might be a bit more keen to be officially part of it rather than as a spectator
BREAKING NOOS: One USA 🙄 priest disobeys the Church, but countless more priests throughout the world do not. Well, the Church teaches that we should revere, but never, ever worship Mary, the Lord's mother - though in practice, many Catholics do exactly that. Should the Church revoke its teaching about the Blessed Virgin because some of the faithful, mistakenly, or willfully abuse it? I think we should. The clergy's complicit silence on this is simply criminal.
The abuse(s) of this Chicago priest & of others, in America in particular, are in DIRECT CONTRADICTION to what Fiducia Suplicans teaches & have been going on for many decades through the prelature of the past 4,.perhaps 5, popes. Find a priest who supports the Magisterial teachings of the Church. They're out there, but lay low so they don't get cancelled. We now have hundreds of good, holy priests that have been cancelled the US.
Well…. Hillsong reject gay marriages. That’s the irony.
@@veronicaf9444 We have to many priests that follow magisterium and to few that follow Jesus.
What is going on man? How can you possibly "bless" two individuals who are willingly living a sinful life? I am a Catholic, but I feel embarrassed to see the very church I am proud of to be in such unprecedented position ever. Anyway, I strongly believe God will renew His church one time! 🙏

I'm still waiting to hear of the devastating reality of "Fiducia Supplicans", since this ceremony was clearly forbidden by that document.
I wish I knew the inside joke between Katherine and Mark, it brought a chuckle just watching them trying to supress the glee.
So do I.
@@davidmorrison2739I’d tell you but you’d have to kill me.
If you listen VERY carefully to Gavin you’ll get it…
They are questioning Fr Waller’s claim to celibacy hinting that he has a special friend -read boyfriend. Gavin was being sarcastic about ex anglicans leaving the gay relationships behind when they entered the Catholic Church.
It is to scandalise the church. If there is evidence then it should be published. Hints and rumours are not enough.
I thought they were laughing AT Gavin at first and felt so sad! Then I realised they were laughing at Gavin’s subtlety.
“Intimate masculine friendships”….🤣🤣🤣 I have to remember that one 😂😂
After Fiducia, three Seminarians I know left their studies. All three were in their sixth year, months before ordination into the transitional Diaconate.
I hope they joined the orthodox Church.
It’s by their own misunderstanding of the document. FS specifies spontaneous blessing. Why can’t people understand that is a mystery to me.
"“And now, you priests, this warning is for you.
If you do not listen, and
if you do not resolve to honor my name,”
says the LORD Almighty,
“I will send a curse on you,
and I will curse your blessings.
Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me."
- Malachi 2:1-2
They're behaving like school children regarding a subject that is no laughing matter. I find it embarrassing to watch.
I think this is a case of its ,,being better to laugh than to cry,, and in this case, it's a double insult to forbid either one, and especially both.
Your editing at 19 minutes was hilarious. What did Gavin say? Come on, out with it!!! I suppose the unexpurgated version will be members only! Drat!
I'm guessing he said less euphemistically what he said after the edit!
Can someone forward this to Fr James J Martin to comment so we can all get further clarification ?
This isnt something the church Jesus founded would do.
Really?
Wheat and tares.
WHAT A MOCKRY OF THE FAITH 😡😡😡😡
Someone thought they were blessing a union...fact is, God not only doesn't bless it, but nite, too the couple and person "blessing" will only deepen their condemnation. There is no wedding.

Fiducia Supplicans- the old, 'this is what we don't want you to do wink wink' trick.
Had to watch about 3 times before getting an inkling of what the joke was about. Quality.
😆😉
Knowing Cupich, he is thinking about making that creepy Vincentian priest his successor.
Please don' t let Dr. Ashenden go full blast cynical any more. He is too devastating at it.

UGH!
Archdiocese of Chicago. Cardinal Cupich.
Need I say more?
Really don't know why we keep saying why do they say this and why do they do that? I think we know why it's obvious they won't two destroy the church of Jesus Christ and they are entering into a time when it's visible that they approve sin in the name of Jesus, they approve sin Publicly in our Catholic Church and mock the death and resurrection of Jesus to lead us out of sin into who were created to be in the beginning in union with our God
Chicago......not surprised

It's not hubristic to call out the Pope. Right is right no matter who or how many are wrong, and wrog is wrong no matter who are how few are right.
Gavin: “I’m looking forward very much to the Holy Spirit carrying him off”😂😂
My understanding is that Kelli Knight is a METHODIST minister and has a church! WHY would they seek a “Catholic” blessing? I just don’t get it!

You guys had me in stitches. Best episode of CU so far 😂
Nothing funny whatsoever.

Ahh, the chemistry tonight😅
His Holiness has appointed more than 2/3 of voting Cardinals. It is more likely the next pope will be more like he is than representative of a step backwards. Being open to the Holy Spirit prepares us for surprises. The only certainty is that there will be more.
Mr. Ashenden was hilarious in this video. 🤣 More, please!
Blatant heresy on all fronts from within the Catholic Church. Just as was foretold. The righteous must stay firm and remain true to Christ and His Gospel.
This is heresy.

Clearly James Martin is NOT to be called FATHER as is stated in the bible. Arise oh Lord and let thy enemies be scattered and those that hate thee flee from before thy Holy Face.❤🙏
We're on the road to a single world religion headquartered at the Vatican. All are welcomed in the new religion, all and sundry.
How do you know this is a Catholic priest? Have you got his name? If so it needs to be made known to the authorities of the church as it is not what the document even allowed for...
Fiducia supplicants (feces albicans) actually forbids this type of a ceremony!
BREAKING NOOS:
One USA 🙄 priest disobeys the Church, but countless more priests throughout the world do not.
Heretical priest....I feel grieved for whoever has to have this man as their priest.
I simply wouldn't. I'd have to find an alternative.
