I love these books and the world of the story, but I'm tired of being repeatedly disappointed at the end of each book to learn that Jax is not going to be her happily ever after after, and that she still, and can never, trust him. Too much like too many people's reality. But this author is developing into one of the greatest fantasy writers of her generation.
I love the way she refrains from labeling any of the magical characters "gods," bc despite their special abilities, "gods" is the far too generous term most authors resort to calling any creature with unusual abilities. There is, and logically can only be, One God.
