Oh my word... This is absolutely fantastic... I usually listen to thrash or death metal. But recent turn of events in my life has completely changed my music taste... I cried when I heard this extraordinary, wonderful music... I lost my Mum recently, not only was she my Mother but my best friend... I miss you so much Mum
you said it.....first time i heard this it took my breath away, and after a great loss such as yours gave me great solace, along with his other music and the Byrd masses....
Dear Nigel: I hope your Mum still kisses you while you sleep as my Dad hugs me in my dreams after some nice words! Death is not a way to lose parents. They are there for us yet!
@@eternafuentedeluzdivina3189 Oh Lord, what beautiful words... Thank you so so much for taking the time to message me... I'm so sorry for the loss of your Father... Losing a parent (or both) is absolutely gut wrenching... There isn't a day that passes where I don't think of my Mum.. I think about her every single day... X
Beautiful, great job, wonderful accomplishment these young people should be proud of the rest of their lives. Thanks for sharing, things like this give hope to the world. Pauline
Fabulous---very well done indeed ! I have had the privilege of singing this wonderful composition in a very accomplished choir and know just how difficult it is. One of the greatest all-time creations. Thank you so much for your excellence.
Hypnotic and mesmeric. A wonderful performance in a magnificent and ambient setting; thank you for postng this. Balm for the soul in these unsettling times.
Spem in alium nunquam habui Praeter in te, Deus Israel, Qui irasceris, et propitius eris, Et omnia peccata hominum In tribulatione dimittis. Domine Deus, creator caeli et terrae, Respice humilitatem nostram. I have never placed my hope In any other than you, God of Israel, Who can show both anger and graciousness And absolve all the sins of suffering man. Lord God, creator of Heaven and Earth Be mindful of our humiliation.
It has a Shakespearian opening: the scene is set and the gloves are off from the get-go. Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy because Kansas is going bye bye. Elizabethan rock rocks! I wonder if Tallis and Shakespeare met - what a team if they ever did.
I've listened to this kind of stuff for years so moving but it's also like time travel written around 1570 it would have been performed for Elizabeth the first so your hearing exactly what she would have heard
@@GThOe To be honest with you, no I haven't. I've tried looking for videos of choirs/singers being taught this piece but unable to find any as would love to try to learn some. :)
@@calembourman2295 Hi ! I was a singer in this choir ; you must know that the sound and the picture were taken in two different moments, so making this video was pretty hard... For the auto-conduction, it was the only way not to be lost in this giant score : you have this landmark at least, if your hand is down, you know you're at a beginning of some meter ! It saved me many times during the concert :) For the exact pulsation, you'll hear we're sharp together thanks to the chief.
How can you say that? These young people worked very diligently to produce a most successful performance of a very significant piece of music in the renaissance period.
FINALLY a version of this classic on TH-cam with clear sound quality

I have to say the accoustics in that Cathedral are awesome. Sounds SO good!
Many congratulations ! One of the greatest musical masterpieces ever written and impossibly (almost) difficult to sing. Brilliant performance.
Will hopefully live long enough to want to watch this a thousand times...Wonderful. Thanks.
Excellent.......And how wonderful it was not marred by vibrato
Sublime rendition of magnificent music
Wow! I have heard many renditions of this piece, and this has to be one of my favorites! Well done!
What a great performance and what a great video!
This deserves so many more views than it has, absolutely stunning performance.

This song must have been created from an inner prayer
COOL!😊
Still wonder what it would have sounded like in the 1500s with an exclussively male choir.

I can see lebron james from the sky when i hear this music
I still think boys and men full voices have a more full rounded tone , but this is not to bad
Singing brilliantly but many conducting themselves looks really weird with others standing still. And yet they have a conductor in front of them.
Have you ever tried performing this? It’s almost impossible without conducting along. Almost.

@@GThOe it might not be a bad idea, still we can see how different their beats are, which proves some disconnection between gesture and singing.
