Like, they really could have made people more aware of the event. I missed most of it because I went to bed and didn't know about the schedule and couldn't be bothered to look it up on some 3rd party website because the schedule on Blizzards website was less of a schedule and more of a scoreboard and just generally a complete mess. So, yeah. Not all that surprised that they didn't even get 100k viewers for the finals.
i forgot there was even world cup tbh the only thing i care about in blizzcon is the opening ceremony with all the announcements

Crazy thing is, Corey had over double the votes of Sinatraa on the twitch poll, and we don't know how many more on Twitter (because the twitter poll only tracked top 3 and sinatraa wasn't in the top 3, which was Corey, Space and Leaf) so how the hell this was awarded to Sinatraa when Corey had more votes than him on BOTH the voting platforms, is a mystery

IKR??!! The whole team was a mess. I don't even think they had more than a couple of days practice as a team. Crimzo and Mouffin were in S.Korea for contendies (I think). xQc had a breakdown. Surefour and Agilities were burnt out from OWL. They figured their raw mechanical skill would carry them in OWWC.

Adam Block Oh we did. But, the MVP award was said to be the choice of the fans. I’m pretty sure 9.9/10 everyone would vote xQc rather Sinaatra because he’s way more popular. I’m not discrediting Sinaatra for his win, he’s clearly the better player, but in terms of a popularity contest, xQc wins dude. Just reality.

@@o9634 No, Last year and every year before that, they always had Group Stages, then Playoffs, then Grand Finals.
It wasn't hyped because it was never supposed to be fair, its goal was sponsorships and a increasing viewer numbers in tier 1 locations cheaply (USA,China and SK). Loads of teams dropped out before it even started due to the changes in the system and travel expenses. The matches arent even random its not rigged as such but its 100% not fair. You cant really call it a worldcup and then safe guard some teams to prevent what happend last year all so you can boost viewer numbers and make the sponsors happy. thats not how sports are supposed to work.

You could see it in OWL too. An all Korean team was pit against a heavily mixed one in the finals, and look what happened. OWL has hardened the rest of the worlds players to play on Korea's level. Took some time, but it happened.
