I’ve found my planner peace in a Standard TN (a Chic Sparrow black beauty, classic, Creme!) and I have an insert for my journal, my commonplace, my monthly, and my creative writing! I love TNs and love Narrow size!

You are my new favorite channel!!! Thank you for doing this experiment! I have learned soooo much!!
I started in the personal wide rings, and liked it but found it bulky, so I thought switching to personal rings was the answer and I TRIED SOOO HARD! But I couldn’t stick to it. I got some bound books now but I am not really sure if they are working for me. You have a great idea to list your must haves, then tackle it from there… IDK!! So confused. Anyways so grateful I found your videos

I love that you did this series with us. I learned this year I don't like dated planners and can't use multiple ones. I'm a bullet journal lover, the standard size is my favorite but B6 just fits in my hand.
I think you are a true bullet journal lover yourself and I fell in love with your style. One stop shop, is what you say.

I have been in a Standard Notebook for my Bullet Journal for over a week now. I cut down one of my Nanami Paper Crossfields A5 to Standard. I'm still using the B6+ Hobonichi Cousin. I wasn't sure if the rings would work for you, not for your all incompassing planner, but I'm glad you tried it. I've tried about everything there is that's mainstream, along with a few that aren't. prefer to have a bullet journal and a planner, all bound. NO rings for me.

This is such an interesting and helpful series. I am falling for SOS. I bought an EC focused planner, which I don´t need. It is undated, yet why did I buy it? I am happy in my system (HP dashboard weekly and B6 Stalogy daily) and still I see to many shiny new planners. I am curious to see how you handle SOS going into 2023. I think you have a pretty good idea of what you want and you can mix up in those planners, without buying all the other stuff.

I totally understand I love the thought of rings, of the happy planner but they just dont work for me even though you can take things out and put back easily in them. I love the bound books. I love the creativity that they give me. I've been kind of doing my own experiment along with you and I've figured out what I'm doing maybe for the rest of this year and next. I will have an A5 for my monthlys, weeklies, dailies, to do list, meal planning. I will have a B6 for my personal journal. I will do a TN for all my notes, kept important things that dont need to be in the A5. Thanks for doing this experiment cause it has helped me to sort out my own mess lol,

There is also a personal wide size rings

@@LorasPlan I agree, the A5 size rings are really convenient to use! ( Or the half letter size for the US letter size paper, just cut in half, and the A5 printables could be used for them)

I wondered how you were going to make the personal rings work. I don't know if you remember but I ordered on off of Amazon and tried it and returned it immediately. The 19mm rings were too big for the small insert. At least with A5 inserts there is more room for the rings to not get in the way as much.
I'm so curious how you are using the A6 Wonderland 222 for work. Funny, I'm the opposite of you.....A6 is my personal and A5 is my work. But, I always wondered why another insert wouldn't just dedicated to work placed in your TN wouldn't work and why you need a separate A6?

Oh one more observation Lora, so when you started in the rings and then went to the TN, you realized that you needed some separation with sections. That you like things organized. But funny how after separating for a little while, you were able to merge everything into the B5 notebook. Need to talk to you about his because I am having a similar experience right now. I ended up getting the Plotter binder system and loving it BUT I ultimately ended up doing bullet journaling in it and now I'm thinking of returning to a bound book....or at least that I would be okay again in a bound book. It is something about separating them for a while helped be figure things out and now I can merge them back???? Also, I did realize that I take more digital notes and use digital for long term collections and for work, I just need a future log for projects and tasks. Monthly calendar to set myself due dates and break down the parts of projects. Then dailies....I figured out a way to put the weekly work tasks on the monthly calendar so for work I don't need a separate weekly. I do need some individual project task lists though.

    That's interesting.
1.You're right, personal rings are too narrow to write on. There are wider options: Franklin Covey compact and personal wide. Some people also use it in the landscape mode, having rings not vertically, but horizontally.
    2. you're right about having structure in the bound notebooks: TN system, which you could have in the bigger size (I.e.A5 size) than in the Standard TN notebooks. I do think that you would most likely find it too narrow if you like the vertical weeklies (as I assume having it in your current notebook). If you don't care about vertical weeks, then it might work for you.
    3. The way to make the ONE bound notebook (as you have now) is to having printables ready to be put in (months, weeks, some other complicated speeads as budgets, trackers etc.). This way you don't have to spend time to set it up.
    4. Having said all of the above, I find the most appealing system to me: having one 30mm rings planner at home and having another smaller size ring binder with me, as I don't have to have everything with me on the go. I do love the A5 size, although I'm having the issue of jumping from one planner to another in August, each August in each year. I guess it's a given for me now. Btw, I was happy in the pocket rings for 3 years before, now I crave the A5, but love the A6 also because it's easy to find the printed planners that I could use with rings. Here we go, again, I'm torn 🤣
    5. I wanted to write that, as you said yourself, the A5 rings will work for you too, but as I said, having the larger ring binder at home and the small ring binder on the go.
    I'm done.
    P. S. It's 10 years anniversary for me using planners intensely each day this year
