My wife and I got lost in the mountains in Italy and we got picked up but some lumber guys. They took us to some mountain refuge and gave us peroni mixed with sprite and it blew my mind how awesome that was on a thirsty hot day. I cant wait to try this hefe and lemonade!
When I was 18 in Germany (1998), most of us didn't drink beer, but we all drank Radlers. If I could go back 19 years and do it all over again, I would.
when the lupulin starts showing mix epsion salt with h2o(1/4 cup 1.5 gal give or take) dump that at the base. it will increase the lupulin amount they grow.
Sweet. Have you noted somewhere how you store your hops? I understand that commercial growers "inject nitrogen" into the vacuum bags. Is this possible (or necessary) for the homebrewer? Any tips would be welcome. Again, thanks for the show! Inspiring stuff. And cheers on the HUB shirt! It's one of our pride of Portland for sure!
Oh man I am jealous, I tried for about 4 years now, I planted 4 rhizomes, which I bought from a local lady here in souther california, they shoot out of the ground, one of them grew to about 8 feet, but I never had any flowers. I know weather is not the reason, becasue the lady I bought the roots from has good crops. You guys inspired me. Good job,and thanks for posting. I know troubleshooting long distance is nearly impossible, but do you fertilize them with acidic or alkalinic fertilizers?
I used to live in Berlin but I now live in Vienna, and I can say that I've never seen a Radler mixed with a Hefeweizen . I think it's only mixed with light lagers like the Helles. BUT one can mix banana juice with a Hefeweizen which is quite nice. Sometimes you can buy bottles of Kristallweizen mixed with fruit juices, but it is mostly sugar. The fact that this is a dark Hefeweizen in this video makes it seem just that much more wrong to me.
thats not true. people here in vancouver bc are growing great hops! we have a wet colder climate..i thought we couldnt either.but its growing like mad in back alleys all over the place! cant wait to see how mine do this year
I dearly miss this outtro. BRING IT BACK!

the birds did you a solid. its called topping. makes your hops grow thick. pot growers do it to triple their yield. pot and hops are cousins.
loved this video. I'll have to link my little project on the page soon. :D
In Australia we dont call it a Radler. We call it a Shandy.
Same as here in the UK. A quick google says that the US does as well.
It's true. We misspoke. Dawson was aptly punished short after this video was posted.
