Great video a filos! Next time, after wetting the fiber glass with epoxy, roll it "dry" with a hard roller and a paper towel to take out the excess epoxy from the fabric. This is always dome when laying up a composite wing and will save weight. For small parts, I use a "food saver" vacume machine. Bought it second hand for only € 15.
@@bracesport true, its good because its reusable and you can rearrange the parts if you spot something is wrong. Also its available for everyone to try..
Great tutorial. Really nice low-tech (cheap plastic sleeves, car wax)-hi tech (carbon fiber) combination! Just what I was looking for - thanks alot! Still, I have some questions: 1. Inside the bag you use normal kitchen paper, right? 2. What type epoxy - 30min? 3. Do you dillute the epoxy with isopropanol (if yes, how much?) or use it plain? 4. Have you glassed main dlg wing halves this way? If yes - what material did/would you use as covering plastic instead of the yellow stuff, since you would need something bigger than A4-sized? 5. What is the plastic strip for that you cut in 3:32? 6. What do you use the roler for, also shown in 3:32?
Thanks! Yes its normal kitchen paper, use a lot of it, helps with the vacuum. 40min epoxy undiluted, haven't glassed a wing yet, that's my next project so I'm not sure what I ll use. Any ideas?
The plastic piece is a second layer that I place under the tail and between the kitchen paper and the yellow Millar. I do this so the pattern of the kitchen paper doesn't leave marks on the finished tail. The roller is just laying there for no reason and will be using it when I wet the wings in my next project.
An excellent way to show DiYers not to be scared to try bagging. Excellent job!
Thank you, worth a try for sure!
Nicely done! Thanks!
Thank you too!

How do you plan to put a control surface in something like this? I may eventually try this, even with CF, looks great!
Thaks, I'am going to use glue, CA or epoxy, like I always do.
@@afilos Do you glue on an external piece of foam or balsa for the control surface? Thank you

What kind of resin are you using? I'm struggling with the ones available in my country.

Have you tried brown paper to compare to this?,
No, but it would be definitely too heavy for dlg application.
Thanks
