Had an 85 tempo 5 spd 4dr, w fuel injection and the best on gas and I mean truly the best on gas,, would blow all these new econo cars out of the water for fuel mileage and speed was decent too since it was a stick, this is truly a rare find!
These cars were the brunt of all jokes in the 90s by my friends. I bought one for 150.00...the rear shock towers I had to welt a bar between the because they were rotted so badly the wheels were cambered do badly lol
I love this so much! I’m sure this is certainly the nicest one left. I really hope this goes to an owner who appreciates the rarity & interesting nature of these unloved malaise era cars. I hope to start a little conservation project with cheap rare malaise cars like this in the future, but until then, I really hope this isn’t some 16 year old’s beater car, because it might just be the last one left. You can’t even find any other photos of these cars anywhere on the internet other than your sale posts, so that is some serious rarity.
@@Plattmotors I know it’s completely out of my control, but please don’t let someone buy it as a beater or cheap daily! I beg you! I recently bought a rare 1978 Dodge Challenger & I sadden at the thought of some unappreciative dude buying it because it was cheap & beating on it or otherwise ruining it. I’m so glad I got to it first, & that car isn’t nearly as rare as this Topaz!
This car is extra hard to find a gem now.
My first car was a 1984 topaz. That thing went through heater cores like crazy. Thanks for posting this. Brings back memories
This was my childhood generation

Topaz GS. The "GL" was Ford's version on the Tempo. ;)

Now it's a valuable classic car!
This was my first car. I got 225K from this car!

Thanks so much! We were so excited to get this one in. We love being different and will continue to do so. Be well...

People have more personal or family sentiment vs actual love for the car
So was it the Sable that had the front bench seats? Haven't heard of this one.
The Sable (named after a Russian animal) was introduced to the world in 1986. The Topaz predated the Sable. Thanks for checking in.

Thanks. Didn’t know that there was a similar car to the sable before the Taurus platform started.
I’m guessing it’s already sold.
Not yet but we are planning to take to a auction next month. Plattmotors.com
