we have an old dutch cabin cruiser on the river havel in berlin. when i walk into the grunewald from our marina, there is an old cemetery in the midst of the forest, the "selbstmörderfriedhof", the suicicals' graveyard (they used to bury the drowned bodies from the river there). for reasons unknown to me, nico lies there. yes, that is true. usually there are flowers, tapes, photographs, candle stumps on her grave. it is a very quiet place.
I saw one of these concerts where she alternated between the Organ and a band .After this tune would follow a Velvets song like "All tomorrows parties", it was different even in the 80s. She was a Super unique talent.
Soap and skin made a great version, not so majestic but really nice indeed. So did Antony, with his spectral and dark singing. And there Is another magnificent One by X TC and Antony. Nico still sings today from darkness...
Sie singt 100% ehrlich - oder 110% oder 180? Das Keyboard erfüllt auch seinen Zweck.Klasse Song!(She's singing truly for 100% or 110 or 180? The Keyboard does his job well.Great Song!
Nico is actually play a European device in a western context. Leaving aside its antecedence such as the medieval portable reed and pipe organs, the foot pumped harmonium is a European instrument. Due to its great popularity on the Indian subcontinent, particularly the hand pumped variety, it is often mistaken to be an Indian instrument.
Nico always played her harmonium with her two hands, and her feet are pumping air for the instrument to make sound. In India, the harmonium is often played with one hand. The other hand pumps up air. The harmoniums she used, nevertheless, were probably crafted in India.
The core of what were a part of the late 70ies early 80ies. A period so rich in musical adventures that hasn't returned ever since Madonna put her commercial cunt in it. It was fabulously delightful to maintain a sense of absolute sadness and despare back then. Today they send you to a pharmacy instead.
Tapping into something ancient, dark and wonderful.
My goddess, my divinity
Here she is literally Lovecraftian. A masterful performance full of mystery.

Very unique! Nico dyed her hair brown to take away her beauty so people would focus on her talent.
1:56 That slamming sound is perfectly timed. It's like nothing can disrupt this moment.

Hi which Nico Tour was it from 86 or 87 ?

Antecedents. For goodness sakes.
