...I love people like you. You get on the Internet and say stupid shit and then criticize the people who point it out for being "rude" or "abrasive" or "mean" to you. Maybe your 5th grade English teacher will read this and send you a cookie and you'll feel better. Still avoiding the point, but at least you'll feel better.
touristguy87 You're not going to hurt my feelings sir. Now I'm curious as to what it is psychologically that makes you so negative. Based on our previous conversation, you'll reply with an unnecessarily long reply chalked full of large words and negativity. So do us both a favor. Keep it short and sweet. What's got you so bummed? I'm here for you.
Having good etiquette towards course maintenance staff is helpful for them, and for you. Learn more in our latest edition of Fore The Golfer! #Golf #USGA
...what is helpful for them and for the paying public is if they don't try to do maintenance during play. What is ridiculous is for you to argue that paying patrons should sit and wait and watch course maintenance staff do course maintenance in the middle of play.I am not saying that it is right for patrons to hit on greenskeepers, but if they are oblivious and obnoxious and refuse to get out of way, then patrons have the right to play through them. And if they want to mow holes that are in play and they get hit by accident, then so be it. Otherwise you are saying that it's ok for non-payers to take over a course and everyone who has paid good money to play is supposed to just sit and wait for them to clear. The plain and simple truth is that if you walk out onto a course in the middle of play, you should not expect that you can do so without getting hit. Any reasonable person would realize that possibility and not place themselves in such a position. Being paid to do so doesn't make it make sense. If you were to pay someone to walk into rush-hour traffic on the freeway, you rightfully would be liable for any accidents or injuries that would result. It's no different for golf-course management and their paid staff.
touristguy87 Sound logic. I encourage you to find a course that follows your ideal rules. If you happened to find one, I can assure you it is in poor condition. It is unavoidable. What you should push for is competent associates who are aware of traffic. A good greenskeeping team shouldn't have you waiting more than a minute.
Wow, you speak as if I haven't already done that. Really. This is truly astounding. Your level of confidence in your erroneous opinion is simply amazing. Seriously you sound like the guy who spoke with great confidence when he said that people could not survive riding a train that goes faster than 60mph. You're an excellent example of what is seriously wrong with this country. The resurgence of the Babbling Idiot.
" What you should push for is competent associates who are aware of traffic. A good greenskeeping team shouldn't have you waiting more than a minute." You're babbling on and on and on, I wonder if you ever stop. You know, I'm sure that every state has an answer to this problem. In one state, they'd probably just play through and then complain to course management about any greenskeepers that dared to say anything to them about it, and try to get them fired. In another state, it would be "...oops, I'm sorry, didn't see you!" Yet a third state it would be "sorry I thought that you were moving out of the way of my shot, but I guess that you didn't know where I was hitting..." Nother state maybe "oh man, I hooked/skulled/topped/sliced that one badly. Really sorry, man. Here, let me call to the clubhouse to bring you out some ice". Still another" wow they expect you to do maintenance during play but don't give you helmets and padded suits? That's wrong, man. You should sue them". Any of 50 "excuses" or justifications would serve to pass on the lesson to greenskeeepers NOT TO FUCKING RUN OUT OR SIT OUT ON A COURSE DURING PLAY.
The amount of time ignorant golfers have nearly hit me because they don't want to wait for us greenkeeper is a joke... but they'd wait all day for the next group of golfers ahead to be a safe distance.
When I'm cutting fairways. I think for the most part I'm safe. All of my close calls have been when I pulled off the fairway so they could tee off, and they hit my mower.
Am I the only one that doesn’t mind when golfers hit towards me? I usually wave them on, giving them the “okay” to hit. I like keeping pace of play and happy customers
Spent 35 years in the maintenance part of the business. Was an assistant superintendent at 3 clubs, got hit 2 times, once a half of foot from my head. Nothing worse than having a group of dew sweepers right on your ass while mowing greens
When the court says busy we need to wait I go by every eight players as two groups but sometimes he'll get very impatient they don't think we should have time to wait all day and then you think we're a bunch of some of the player to think we're a bunch of Pricks and they don't appreciate what the work we do every day in the hot sun but anyway I think people to give the meaning of people a lot respect we didn't do the work they would have a goat farm guaranteed especially in Florida
they shouldn't be doing maintenance during play the course isn't there for them to maintain it. the simple and obvious answer is to not sell tee-times for 2 hours during the day to let them maintain the course without interference, but no...then the greedy owners wouldnt' make any money for those two hours without jacking up the price to compensate for the lost greens fees. And that would take time and effort that they would rather have the golfers who pay for the round suffer for instead of them.
If you have that big of a problem with the early morning maintenance just don't go early then, its simple. plus it takes a lot more than just 2 hours a day to maintain a course haha! If its not tournament Play they are working 10+ hours a day to keep up, and without them you wouldn't have a course to play on so.
Hi, Advice Guy. I think that I've played enough golf to know what time to play so that I enjoy the round, thank you. Thank you very much. And, how long it takes to maintain a course, etc. Probably anything that you'd want to say about golf? I probably already know it. But thank you for trying to be Mister Information.
plus I was responding to the points made in the video, that it's better for them to focus on doing maintenance for 2 hours rather than stop everytime a group comes up the fairway so that it would take 10 hours but...you know, if I have to explain every comment to you in the context of the video to which I'm replying, then I'm really going to feel like I'm dealing with a short-bus failure. So just this one time for an example and hopefully you'll get the general pattern. Don't tell me what to do or what to think in response to my own damm comment, idiot. You sound like one of those obnoxious fuckheads who tell women that if they don't want to get raped then they shouldn't wear short dresses. I guess you can't see how fucking idiotic you look saying something like that in response to a video where a golf professional is trying to lecture people to be more tolerant and kind to golf course maintenance during play. In response I say "don't do maintenance during play!!" and your fucking boneheaded response is to not play during maintenance! How have you made it through life with such an outrageously large pin on the top of your head? People buy a fucking tee-time TO PLAY GOLF. Not to sit there and watch the maintenance staff maintain the course. If you have real issues with that, then just stop playing golf then you won't have to deal with people like me.
Thats not very open minded type of response, people that usually say "that everything you know I already know" are typically ass holes that think they know everything and cannot handle someone stating their opinion on something. But anyways I was saying then don't play when the majority of the maintenance is being done, IF its that big of a problem for you. I have never once been mad at maintenance personnel on the course or during tournaments, Ive been putting and they were mowing and I didn't give two shits. oh and usually people that try and defend themselves by insulting people know that they are wrong and cannot come up with something intelligent to say back to the other person. Just some friendly advice don't comment something on youtube unless you can handle having a discussion with someone. but if you prefer to insult and say you know everything, then so be it, go back to your comfort bubble you're living in.
Thanks for sticking up for the unsung heroes of golf!
...yeah, "heroes". the dudes that mow a golf course.
Almost as bad as D-Day, isn't it.
like racing into a burning building to save a child
...they thank them for their hard work and good results maintaining the course and also for not trying to do course maintenance during play.
touristguy87 I'm not certain what it is that makes you act like you do, but I truly hope it works itself out. You are downright abrasive.

Seeing a trend I am haha!
The amount of time ignorant golfers have nearly hit me because they don't want to wait for us greenkeeper is a joke... but they'd wait all day for the next group of golfers ahead to be a safe distance.
I love it when golf hits into me and I’m on a rotary mower. Their ball goes bye bye! In about 5 different pieces lmao
doesn't it hurt like hell???
Been there!! Roger that!!
When I'm cutting fairways. I think for the most part I'm safe. All of my close calls have been when I pulled off the fairway so they could tee off, and they hit my mower.
Brand number of that job Deere greens mower?
That guy on the sand pro cracks me up waving! Haha! I’m an Assistant Superintendent up in Oregon. Loved the vid. Keep em coming!
Am I the only one that doesn’t mind when golfers hit towards me? I usually wave them on, giving them the “okay” to hit. I like keeping pace of play and happy customers
I do the same thing...Just hide behind what ever I can and let them play on LOL
You are not alone 😀
Spent 35 years in the maintenance part of the business. Was an assistant superintendent at 3 clubs, got hit 2 times, once a half of foot from my head. Nothing worse than having a group of dew sweepers right on your ass while mowing greens
I was hit three times in one year, thankfully no damage was done. ahh golf such a silly game but we like that,...

People will sit in line for 20 mins or more in the drive thru at Starbucks or Chick Fil A but they get REAL stupid on a tee box.
Oh I thought those guys were moving targets
Please. I will get out of your way asap.
i wonder how much they get payed.
Not enough.
Lol we don’t get paid shit... free golf though
At my golf course, they don't give a shit. They will try to hit you lol
Funniest video on TH-cam! 😂
My playing group normally bets $5 for closest to the greenskeeper.
