    Thanks for the video! But is nitrogen as a fertilizer if too much applied not hindering the bacteria on the root knots of this legume to establish? Because when the plants have enough nitrogen available they tend to not form those symbiosis with nitrogen-mining bacterias 🤷🏻‍♂️ Because why should they then.

      First off, the immature alfalfa can't produce enough N for it and the corn. Second, he said they banded the N closer to the corn which will likely uptake most of it. Whatever is leftover, alfalfa will quickly uptake and use all of it instead of poisoning the ground water. Once the N levels are low enough in the soil, then alfalfa will recruit the rhizobia living in the soil and will build up nitrogen as long as the life of the stand.
