• Made and recorded in LSDJ 9.3.9 with BGB (hence the click sounds that I fully embrace).
I don't mix separate channels after recording.
Slammed an Ozone 11 on it for the "mastering".
• Oscilloscope visuals made on Corrscope, video edited and processed in After Effects 2021.

I'm surprised how clean your beats are. Feels very un-gameboy like and thats incredible.
I think it’s been compressed to death with a limiter post-gameboy which might explain why it sounds different. It makes everything duck in time to the kick which sounds modern… Impressive stuff!
@@xanderlewis I actually "fake sidechain" within LSDJ by using synths with different ADSR settings, I don't compress my tracks in post other than limiting

Oh my god, this is absolutely amazing
Until I downloaded your actual gameboy savefiles (for Bon Voyage) I couldn't believe you were legit, then I played your album in LSDJ and my jaw dropped even more. Your drum&bass beats are absolutely slamming and your sound design skills are incredible. I know making good tutorials is a lot of work but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that even some simple no-commentary videos showing how you put sounds together would be a fantastic learning platform for the community.
Could you share a savefile for this piece too? I'd love to analyze your work like I did for your other pieces
Thank you! It is still something that I'd like to do but it's definitely not a priority. I'm working on a new project, not sure if it's going to be another EP or an album yet. If I were going to do tutorials, it probably wouldn't happen before the release of this new project. But I want to do it right. If I'm making tutorials at some point, I want them to be useful, accessible and entertaining!
@@flippendo_chiptune Understandable, one issue with making good video is that it takes an absurd amount of time AWAY from the main project you are trying to show, so it's definitely a fine balance there. Anyway, keep it up and good luck!

I didn't, and I don't think it's doable, I only did the recording through BGB!

And how can you make a drum sound out of a noise channel?
DAMN, this is a really good recreation. May i ask what notes you pitch-bend the kick from and to?
I can but honestly you won't get the same results if you don't use 3x, and even more so if you don't use my custom file. I go from C4, than I use a table on it that is transposed to 03 - with a P command at C5, set at a custom groove of 0F-0F. This is not going to be helpful for you I'm sorry :D
Is lsdj unreliable if not run on a cartridge on the analog pocket? I have one on the way and haven’t got a solid answer I found a few posts but they are all over a year old. Thanks, love your stuff. Very good. Did you ever post on 8BC?

I use this technique all the time, you can dig through my save files to see that. I think Pain Perdu mentions it in a tutorial as well!

I would love to play this on my original gameboy, for now I just know how to turn gbs files into gb files to play songs, but I do must admit, I would shit my pants if I had the chance to see my gameboy play this
