    I did the same thing but ran the hot wires jnside to a toggle switch so I could control when the fan comes on. In stop and go city driving when she heats up I turn it on and when out on the road I turn it off.

    Yo I appreciate this video I needed this quick fix but I really didn't know how to do it and I took it to some mechanic and they didn't understand that my fans wasn't working and disconnected it I was so upset this video really help because they make me put it back to the way it was thank you

    It should be noted that this is not just a temporary fix but also an *emergency fix* that could get you home. Leaving the fan on all the time will wear out the fan motor sooner than it would normally be, plus the engine needs to operate at certain temperature to burn fuel optimally. You will still need to replaced the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor for the cooling fan and engine to run properly.

      I’ve done that and the fans still don’t come on around 200 degrees but when I unplug the temp sensor they come right on

    I have no fan working in my 97 chevy malibu and your video has helped so far...but I have to figure out if my fuse is blown- wire not connected- I have a lot to check- could be a blown fan motor idk and at summer hot air is not my friend!!!

    1st Lovin your YT username.. second your video came up under Overriding cooling fans for a 1994 Buick Roadmaster. 3rd I guess I'm possibly the one of few who can't wear flip-flops but I can wear sandels the in-between toe thing always gives me a blister lol. I'll leave you with a thumbs up + sub.. You can run much faster in sandals vs flip-flops as they don't fall off. Have a great weekend Eddie J. Long Island N.Y.

    what color is the wire that u cut to splice into???? is it the OUTSIDE wire on the connector? that is going to get power directly from the + on the battery to make the fan come on? i like the togggle switch idea inside on the left side of the dash as that seems easier to run the wires to???? 10 gauge wire seems awful big? i didnt know that they took that much current to run the fan/s???

    I know this is late but I actually have a rendezvous with the same motor and the ECT is actually in the driver's side under the thermostat. Kind of difficult to remove because I have larger hands but I still fan issues. I should make videos about my rendezvous adventures...

    On a ford focus that I own, i replaced everyting relating to my cooling system! Yet no fix! But, when the cylinder head temp sensor wire is disconnected- the fan comes on so, i unplugged it & the fans ran constantly when engine ran only but, it was 2 hard on the alternator & fried 2 alternators so, i spliced into one if the temp sensor wires in two spots just looping the curcuit & when i split the wire, fan comes on so, i connected a toggle switch & when i flip the toggle my fans come on & I do not need to have them run constantly & overload my charging system & cause the car to run to cold/ closed thermostat plus, i can disconnect one fan & decide to run both fans or 1, & all i did was run 1 small wire. You might want to cinsider the same idea as to not overload your charging system & blow out coolant tubes from the thermostat always being closed...

    Ok which wires did you connect together nd made one wire they red and grey. I did it and ran a ground nd it went crazy car wouldn't start. I tried it you way but the fan stays on no matter what. I know I'm doin something different cus I see you cut two wires a ground ut look like. Plz if you can tell me the wires I need run and cut thank you.

    Yeah neither fan seems to be working in my Oldsmobile 88, I’m guessing it might be a coolant sensor at that point

    Fan Problems on my 05 Saturn Relay. The Coolant Temperature Sensor is a 45 minute job. it's under the throttle body on the drivers side of the block. you can get a 6" extension and a 19mm deep socket and get it out from under the exhaust manifold. go watch a video super simple solution. stay away from the fake acdelcos sold on amazon. test the new coolant temp sensor with your harbor freight multimeter. set to 20k ohms and refer to gm coolant temperature ohms chart. still having problems with the fans coming on HIGH only low and now the water pump is leaking. looks easy on this 3500. while changing your temp sensor swap out the thermostat it's in the same location under the throttle body.

    This is NOT a Fix. It is bypass of the Vehicles PCM controlled circuitry. I do not believe the temperature sensor was an issue as it triggers the PCM, Not the Fans. The PCM sees the Resistance change and turns on the Single Circuit that activates the (2) high Speed Relays and closes the circuit for the Low Speed Relay.
    If the Fans run on High speed all three Relays are working(closed) 12V for the (3) high speed relays.
    1) Could be a HS relay - Swap to confirm(Both are the same relay) If no Change
    2) Apply ground to the Relay of the non-working Fan and it should run.
    If still no function(but the fan runs when bypassed) either there is bad contact between the Relay and underside workings of the Fuse panel(Board/Connectors) or the Ground wire from the fuse panel has a break.
    12v+ will only show at the Fans/Fan connectors when the Relays are activated by the PCM providing the Ground Signal the Relays.

    1:40 that nut near his thumb. 2 wires. one to Battery
    the other from generater. ..kinda small.
    Go Look at the alternator wire for a 2010 Implala. BIGGER...
    the Solenoid at his finger , Black square thing... thats FAN 1 ...
    GOOD fix that I plan to do , but with a N.O. 60"c thermoswitch.

    What is it when both AC Condenser fans work for about 20 seconds then cut off, then about 30 seconds later they cut on an run for about 20 seconds and then cut off, over and over again?

    Just wondering, does your AC works?

    • @kingphillieman
      @kingphillieman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey I have the same issue in my 2006 Buick Rendezvous (same issue) and my AC doesn't work. You know what that might be?

    • @TradeAlgoPremier
      @TradeAlgoPremier 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      D Defils Sr., inoperative AC could be caused by a lot of factors. Start form the top and work your way down. 1. Low refrigerant could cause that... check the level with using appropriate equipment. Wear eye protection when working around A/C system. 2. Circuit problem from the power source through the fuse and relay. If all checks good then we can go to the next one. 3. Cooling fan work/works. If none of the fans work then you have to chase that first before going after the A/C. There are videos on how to check that on TH-cam. Make sure power/ ground are clean and no corrosion in the circuit. This is just the starting point. Good luck.
