Because from experience the remaining cost is going to be as much as twice what you've spent. Years ago I wish I knew what I know now, I would have just built a 2 bedroom. Maintaining such a huge mansion is no joke especially when you retire. Please make each bedroom ensure so that if need be you can fall back on the place bringing income as an Airbnb
