    I henna dyed my hair back in January and it was brown, so it was mixed with indigo. It's been about four months and I want to go back to my natural colour. It has really faded a lot since then, so I decided I would do an oil mask to strip any remaining colour out and then bleach it. I did a test strand today because I was worried I'd end up with streaky green hair and a bit of the strand came out green :( So far I have done two oil masks for a couple of hours each, but I will try the vitamin c mask next. Because my hair is so faded, I am hoping this will be enough! I miss being blonde haha. Your hair looks so healthy and amazing! I hope that I have the same success as you!

    Same as Lynn Yaa C mentioned. Instead of making my hair healthier, henna dried it more than any hair color I ever used. You still can see coppery henna strings in my colored dark hair. But now I want to do ombre, and I wonder how my hair going to bleach. I wonder if oil treatment will effect permanent color I use now as well as henna strings that I'm trying to remove? You did such a great job on removing henna since I saw your post a while ago. Also, I loooove your new hair style and color! It fits you so well!

      ImVictoriaD thank you 😘 as far as I have researched Henna molecules are different to average hair dye so I should think oiling shouldn't be a problem. Plus the oil will help get your hair in super condition before and after bleach xx

    Thank for sharing your journey with us! =) ...I switched to Henna (Lush) about 7 months ago. I thought it would be healthy for my hair, but it after about 2 applications my hair began drying out, and honestly it was the worse condition of my hair I have ever seen. I used a mix of Brun and Noir (has indigo). Worse yet it would not cover my greys (turned them cooper). I used henna about 3-4 different times....it was about 1.5 months after I used henna and I went for chemical dye at an high end salon. The carmal highlights turned blue. Oddly enough it seemed to colllect more at my ends.
    She then semiperm. dyed my hair dark brown and the blue went away....so end of story I'm going to use some of the methods you have suggested and around June go in for a strip test. Hopfully that works. If not I can just semi perm. dye it again...never going back to henna that's for sure

      I should think it will work for you. I go through stages of long hair and short hair often as I tend to get fed up with long hair after I grow it, my hair is currently long and natural colour but I feel like getting a pixie again, it had nothing to do with the henna. Good luck xx

      @@wildwithkate yes I totally understand! I have done this myself. Today I had an idea....after a year of trying to grow out a shag because I put too much indigo in and chopped off alot of hair maybe I can bleach the dark brown and even though it will show blue green, I could correct with bright red henna? I had long hair 5 yrs ago and boy do I miss it. I have nearly shoulder length now but I want something more vibrant than dark brown. Hope this makes some sense 😊 and your long blonde looks great. You also can rock that pixie.

    Thank you so much for this upload! I am currently in the process of oiling my hair as often as possible (at least twice a week), then in 2-3 months time I intend to use Colour B4 a couple of times (oiling in between) before eventually going for the bleach. I wanted to ask you what you mean when you say the strongest bleach possible? Do you mean a 40 volume developer? Or a particular brand? Because 40 volume kind of scares me. Is it not better to use a couple of applications of 20 volume or 30 volume but wait a few days in between to reduce damage? I really appreciate your help, and you are currently the only success story I have found in terms of henna removal, so well done! Hehe xx

    • @wildwithkate
      @wildwithkate  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for your comment. I have found the best way is to use the highest volume and do it just once, the more applications of bleach the more damage in my experience but everyone's hair is different so if your hair can cope with a few applications defo go for a lower volume xx

    • @kennethjoneification
      @kennethjoneification 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wildwithkate Thank you so much for replying! To be honest, I think my hair defo can't cope lol, it is naturally very dry, even still a bit dry with the henna. I was thinking of doing a 40 volume bleach wash, though I guess it would depend how much I had managed to fade the henna. I had seen some comments saying people had managed to remove it with just a bleach wash. Thank you very much for your help and for your great content xx

    Never apply any chemicals on henna, it goes in chemical reaction with it making hair burn from the inside. I've just recently done that mistake and applied henna on my hair for the first time ever and holy shit I hate it. What's been working for me is firstly straighten the hair to open the cuticles. Spray hair thoroughly 1 measure of coca cola mixed with 4 measures of water and then apply coconut oil. Why coca cola? It contains phosphoric acid which helps to get rid of the dye. As you apply the oil backcomb the hair so that the oil gets inside the hair. Put cling film all over hair and put a towel on it. Keep as long as you can (you can sleep in it). After that time I wash hair with head&shoulders interchangeably with a purifying citrus shampoo, as many times as required to get rid of the oil. Then I apply a henna mask Natural Classic Henna Hair Treatment Conditioner (it's great for hair growth and doesn't dye hair). I have done it twice and there was a lot of orange water going. The color is muuuuch less offensive and my hair is not damaged at all. This should be done around 2/3 times a week until desired result. You're welcome

    I hate pure henna. Just wanted to say that. It turned my hair from black, gray, and white to bright orange with dark brown. I look like a clown. I tried this after losing my hair to chemo and should not have wasted the money. Now I'm searching for articles to get this henna out of my hair and it's not easy. There are real risks to dying it with commercial color now. I may have to wait until it grows out and I cut off the henna to dye it again. I hope this helps someone.

      So, my hair was bright red. I panicked and found this article. Mixed up the oil treatment and did several treatments on my hair for 2-3 days. The color changed to a more muted red and dark brown that I really like now. I have decided to keep it and I'm ordering supplies from henna color lab.
      Apparently, it's supposed to be bright for the first 3 days. The oil will help darken that color. They have other colors if you don't like red. And they have color experts to help you get the right color. They are really nice and won me over with their great customer service. My hair is touchably soft now. Hope this helps!

    Hi does the colourb4 product really work on lightening henna dyed hair?? Will really appreciate any comments as I'm desperate to get the black henna out of my hair!! thanks

    • @wildwithkate
      @wildwithkate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      madiha maqbool from what I learnt in hairdressing it's all to do with shrinking and enlarging hair colour particals. The sulfur reacts with the colour particals so they are easier to get out of the hair shafts but only for a short amount of time so that is why you need to following the instructions and keep to the times. You may need more than one application, it shouldn't damage your hair but it can be very drying so I would do oil masks in between too. Hope this helps. Kate x

Tried vit C hair mask 4 times , Colour b4 3 times, bleach, oils... nothing helps. My hair turned green and now I’m just toning it down to medium brown just to hide the green and let it grow out... my roots are lighter as a result... but I can’t risk doing more to my hair... it’s already pretty damaged as a result. So just FYI - need to be very careful if you have indigo in your hair and a blondish base
