    As a Canadian, there's absolutely no way I would live in the US. My wife and I have discussed the possibility of one of us being offered a job in the US, and we agree we don't want to bring our children up there. When you are one of the few industrialized nations in the world not to have universal health care, that's a problem. When more than 40% of the population doesn't realize that evolution is a fact, that's a problem. When a large portion of the population is more interested in keeping their guns than with people's safety, that's a problem. And when you've got two sides of your government that literally refuse to work with one another, and not realize that's a huge problem, that IS a problem.
    So I am very glad to be living in Canada, thank you very much.

      ***** 1. I would certainly say that the "universality" of healthcare is of the upmost importance because I don't want to live in a country that allows people to go bankrupt or even worse, die, simply because they can't afford the care they need.
      Now, obviously the quality is important, as well, but if you can't afford it, then who cares how good it is.
      As for affordability, I don't think you understand what universal healthcare is. With universal healthcare, everyone can afford it.
      2. That's still better than the US.
      3. That is a ridiculous statement and not backed up by the evidence whatsoever. And this highlights Americans obsession with guns, which is dangerous and unhealthy. I refuse to live in a country that makes up excuses why they "need" to have guns. It's sickening.
      4. BUT OUR GOVERNMENT CAN GET THINGS DONE!!!!!! There isn't this hatred between parties like there is in the US. You don't have parties whose sole goal it is to prevent the other from doing anything.
      I realize you are American and feel the need to defend your country, but you have to realize there are things very wrong with your country. And they're only getting worse.
      I don't think Canada's perfect, but given the choice between Canada and the US, I choose Canada 10 times out of 10.

    Proud Canadian here! 🇨🇦 ❤️
    I read somewhere, and I’m not sure if it’s true, but that 66% of people who file for personal bankruptcy in the US, it’s because of medical costs. Imagine if that worry was off the table. 🤔

      I have read that some years ago as well and I live here in Canada. The cost of health care is astronomical and only the rich can afford it.

      I had major health issues as a kid, and needed a lot of doctor appointments, X-rays, scans, a major surgery and a week long hospitalisation. If I would have lived in the US, my family would have gone bankrupt because of me... It's crazy when you think of it...

    This Canadian 74 year old granny gets Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, a small pension from the Ontario government, an annuity from my husband's work and some money from investments totalling $2,989.94 per month. I pay virtually no income tax, get free health care and live quite comfortably.

      +Team1 - Sorry, but I think DanM just may be on to something. As a fellow Canuck you personally know just how much it sucks to have such an amazing, inclusive, and free health care system. Embarrassingly, our math and literacy rates are consistently ranked in the top 10 world-wide. (Ontario recently announced it will begin offering free post-secondary education to those who otherwise cannot afford it.) Unbelievably, we emerged relatively unscathed from the recent recession that decimated the U.S., largely due to our stringent banking regulations. Shamefully we welcome refugees with open arms. And if you can believe it, our Prime Minister actually showed up to greet some of our new arrivals personally. Cheers, Keiko in Toronto Note: We applied for green cards once, but sadly we just couldn't meet the American minimum weight requirement ;)

    When my mother had an aneurysm and fell into a coma for months, my dad used to joke about how far in debt we'd be if we lived in the states. Between the multiple surgeries and overnight care in the ICU, I remember his guess was half a million at one point. When she woke up and was in rehab to regain her motor skills (also covered) my dad got sick with cancer. We just counted our blessings after that, not the dollar signs.

    I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada, the richest city in Canada and the most populated. We have cultures from all around the world. We are the most or one of the most multi culture cities in the world and yet we have a very low crime rate compared to a city this size in ANY american city. We as a people have way different perspectives on society. Im actually quite terrified to even VISIT any US city. I would never want to live in such a society with so much hostility towards each other. Jesus you Americans need to fix that shit quick. Adam Fisk But the USA likes to think it's above all that - truth is it's just as bad if not worse.

    • @ACF5074
      @ACF5074 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I'm not exactly sure where you got that idea but and I can tell you in all honesty and accuracy that the United States has never thought of itself as being above all that. In fact, one of the reasons why the economy went from a period of recession to a period of rapid growth and job creation within just a few years is because of the fact that the people got tired of the corporate and political corruption ruining our society, took to the streets and began to raise their voices. And yes, there were elections, including a change of presidency, but none of that was nearly as effective as the people finally exercising their right to peaceably assemble on a large scale and declaring that things needed to change...

    • @SFO14
      @SFO14 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Adam Fisk Yes, the people assembled, but were mostly laughed at or cast aside as the "Occupy Wall Street" movement never had any clear focus or platform.
      And you state *the United States has never thought of itself as being above all that*
      Are you familiar with "American exceptionalism"? It is the theory that the United States is inherently different from other nations. Although the term does not necessarily imply superiority, many *neoconservative* and other *American conservative writers* have promoted its use in that sense. To them, the U.S. is like the biblical "City upon a Hill"-a phrase evoked by British colonists to North America as early as 1630-and exempt from historical forces that have affected other countries.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_exceptionalism

    • @ACF5074
      @ACF5074 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they were laughed at by the partisan - biased aspects of the mainstream media. But there's no question that they were still effective. And I'm not just talking about Occupy Wall Street. There were other, lesser-known groups and operation is well, across the entire country. And because of people standing up, the job growth and economic expansion that the United States is experiencing right now is unprecedented. That's because the people stood up and showed that there is indeed, strength in numbers - regardless of what the mainstream media likes to try and say. Because remember, even though the media is supposed to be objective, it still has an agenda. And American exceptionalism is exactly what you said - a theory. Simply a suggestion and nothing that has been rooted in any kind of fact. And although many historical forces have not had the same effect on countries like the United States and Canada because of a variety of reasons as they've had on other countries, that's only because of a number of different factors contributing to such a phenomenon that could or could not be helped by the inhabitants of the North American continent. But that doesn't mean that the people here look at themselves as being above or beyond everyone or everything else. Quite the contrary, actually...

      Jz80 its not bad at all. people love to paint america by what they see going gone in the big cities. but most Americans live in peace; away from all that political bullshit.
      i live in a town in Pennsylvania, and its beautiful! friendly people, great infrastructure, awesome hospitals, big houses, quiet, safe, etc. ALOT of america is exactly like this. but for some reason, most foreigners love to greenflies america into one big hell hole.

    • @DaveBrownBrutus
      @DaveBrownBrutus 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Jz80 I'm a proud Canadian who lived in California for many years. When I initially moved to the US, I was surprised to find no real difference between individual Americans and individual Canadians. Differences show up when you observe large groups and regions (often via mass media). And it's usually not the effect of country, but rather regional religious or cultural influence. Vancouver is far more similar to San Francisco than Charlotte, NC is to San Francisco. By the same measures, moving from Toronto to New York would be less dramatic a change than moving from Toronto to Victoria.
      If you prefer to think in broad stereotypes, you'll find that many Americans are more "Canadian" than many Canadians.

Both ideologies force you to put too much trust in a handful of people to do what's best for the majority of society. Communism requires you to put complete trust in the government/state and Reaganomics requires you to completely trust the bankers and corporations to not rip the population off. Both ideologies are completely flawed.

      it's not about gun laws, it's about Canadians having a better moral stance on guns. we have them of course, every country does. but the average Canadian doesn't need nor do they want one.
      you do realize stricter gun laws in the states is not the answer. as most gun crimes in the states, are committed with guns that are illegally obtained.

I’ve seen some Americans answering questions about their country and about there state and math and bla bla bla. They know absolutely nothing. Americans say "Canada is too damn cold!" Ha! The funny thing is that that is such a myth!
    Yes, in the prairies it gets very cold (like your prairies), and of course in the north, but on both of our coasts the winters are generally similar to American winters. Toronto is comparable to New York, and Vancouver (where I live) generally is around 8 - 10 degrees celsius in the heart of winter. We get around two snow days every year - meanwhile, in the States, you guys were freezing your butts off with -20 degrees in the majority of the country!
    Vancouver's weather is great - a bit more rain year round, but gorgeous, sunny summers that are hot but not boiling like Arizona, and springs and falls with mixtures of sun and cloud and mild temperatures. If you can deal with a cloudy winter, then Vancouver has some of the most even, mild, and livable weather around.
    It's funny how down in the US everyone thinks of us as freezing our butts off, but really on the West Coast we're always warmer than the majority of your country in winter, the East Coast is always very close to whatever New York's weather is, and the prairies aren't very populated, and experience the same weather as your prairies generally.
    Considering the majority of our population lives within 30 miles of the border, the fact that Americans think our weather must be so different in our populated areas than theirs, is rather hilarious. Oh well, it's good for us - it maintains us as a well-kept secret. Mild weather, healthcare, better general education, and a much fairer tax, judicial, and political system? Hell yes I'm proud of my Canadian identity!

      JackFrost306 It takes a special kind of person to call themselves a prairie Canadian, or indeed a prairie American! The prairies just in general suffer really tough winters, but for some reason all of Canada gets classified as being the same as that, and it isn't. We've had a beautiful, crisply sunny April here in Vancouver!

      I'd take Calgary weather over southern Ontario weather any year. In Calgary we don't get any kind of rain in the middle of winter: freezing or regular. The snow doesn't pill up as high, and the spring thaw doesn't turn the roads and sidewalks into slushy rivers. Also, in summer, the rain doesn't make a hot day even worse.
      As for Vancouver... It rains a lot! Sometimes it feels like you will never get dry again. After so much rain, it begins to smell like mold everywhere.

    The difference between Canada and the US. Is specially when we face a pandemic like we just did , the government recruited the best medical and infectious diseases to address the public about on how to minimize exposure and stay healthy , and after the medical experts concluded we would have to drastically reduce our social exposure , the prime minister spoke only about how we would offer unprecedented financial support to the families that just couldn’t afford to stay home , and that’s why here in Canada we have pretty much this thing under control most families didn’t have to wonder how would they be able to buy food and stay home not working we never heard our prime minister saying that this would be a few cases and it would go away like magically in no time , I can’t imagine the fear the terror of having Trump talk when you are going thru the anxiety of a very new and terrifying experience like this one I will never take this blessing for granted , because I have seen just how the vast majority of the people can and is directly affected when a government does not care about it’s people , and the general mental health of Canadians versus Americans is like night and day , I’m glad to pay higher taxes any day if that means that my neighbour doesn’t have to go hungry or live in a tent by my front door or down the street , America talks about creating a livable and safe society using words like communism or socialism like it’s a bad word, they prefer to have a mansion with 20 rooms and 15 bathrooms. With golden fixtures and water features , and Ferrari’s and Bugatti’s in the garage , even knowing that they have to look at the sick and the homeless every time they go out in the real world . Rich Canadians value their safety, and value knowing that at least their neighbours and friends have good health adequate shelter and enough to eat , much more than to hoard all the wealth ,so they have multiple golden towers on some pretentious avenue in New York , why is that Americans with power and wealth choose not to invest in the people and look at programs meant to nurture and support the average person that just because didn’t have the same opportunities or the same ability be it physical or intelectual , they are still people worthy of respect and a decent life , it’s not socialism , it is just basic human decency that lifts many many more out of the abject poverty and desperation we see rampantly becoming the normal in the states . Just as normal as the absurd and obscene wealth of a few that could never live a normal life amongst other people , or risk being robed all the time or getting the lambs and the Porsche vandalized and that’s a high price to pay in my opinion from the wealthy person point of view but they don’t see it in the states their picture includes me only , there’s no how much better would my life be if more people were allowed to live well and enjoy the life we are all meant to live , there’s enough for all of us to live life well , and the only reason we are not all living well , is because some , a few , got the advantage to get their hands in the pot , and instead of taking what they need to live well They thought , we make the rules , and I’m gonna take my share and and the next 1000 or what families share , that way not only will I drive a latest Bentley But my neighbour’s will be waking barely with shoes on , this is the type of mentality in America and just as they manage to convince everybody that is normal and the only reason you are suffering deprived of some or most basic necessities , is because you didn’t work hard enough , or. You are not as smart , so oblivious to your needs they block you from their conscience and their sight .like you don’t exist they get so busy acquiring property and yachts. Renovating the beach house every year can be so exhausting . this is the normal in the United States obscene wealth meet abject poverty not a sustainable mutually fulfilling relationship , I hope that sooner than later Americans do the math and adjust their perspective on living in perfect harmony with nature and with other men and women alike ,

    As a Canadian, I recognize that Canada is not perfect. Nonetheless, I am so grateful to be Canadian. I'm grateful for our gun laws, our universal health care, our general lack of corruption, our access to education, our regard for fairness....the list goes on. I'm familiar with the US. My husband is American. My sister is a naturalized American. My family had a home in upper NY state for thirty years. I have witnessed the gap between the rich and the poor in the US grow ever wider. I have worried about my sister's lack of access to medical care and the extraordinary steps that were needed to obtain it when she had no coverage from her employment. While Americans and Canadians are similar in many respects, there is no great fear in Canada about creeping socialism or the red menace of communism. Thus, we are able to debate about and implement programs that bolster the social safety net without concluding that it is an inevitable "slippery slope" to totalitarianism. Few here truly believe that the poor are poor because they are lazy. Still, much more work remains to be done in Canada to minimize disparities in areas such as access to housing, to ensure corporations pay fair taxes, to diversify our economy beyond the resource sector and so on. Shortcomings notwithstanding, I'm so glad I live north of our shared border.

    As for the median income shown at 3:44, it is very important to note that it is "after taxes". For example, the taxes in Germany are way higher than in the US - so the shown income "after taxes" is of course lower. However, these taxes are used by the German government to pay for stuff for which people in the US must pay extra (education, childcare, road use, etc.).
    So, the "real life" disposable income is not higher in the US - but most likely lower (in particular because everything is "for profit" in the US, e.g. shown by the absurdly high costs of education and healthcare).

    Thank God I live in Canada! For health reasons, I have been on welfare for a few years now. So that's #1. I can get welfare. It's not enough, it's not meant to live on. But I can't get disability because I can still function. #2 I get my home care and wound care supplies for free when my cellulitis explodes.I am getting access to medical specialists to help my health issues. Any Ontario emergency unit will take me when they see that Ontario Health Insurance card. And we have libraries! Great God almighty! We have libraries! I know our education system isn't the greatest, but it's better than the USA's.
    We have more regulations and controls on a lot of stuff, because we operate on the gestalt of looking after the community as a whole, rather than supporting the richest people's right to get richer.
    It isn't all champagne and caviar.We have problems like the USA does. We don't have all the answers. We get fed up with what goes on in Parliament and our provincial legislatures. We get right testy about it sometimes. We would like some things to change. But on the whole,I live in the best country in the world.

      America has medicaid for the poor and medicare for the old, 50 million (150% of Canada's population) people, including my mother, can see almost any doctor they want for little (under $20) to no cost anytime.. We also provide food stamps to 46 million people. I get all my books and films from my local library, and even get ebook and audio books from our digital library.
      PS - You're wildly stereotypical and ignorant statements about America only goes to prove your education standards aren't nearly as good as you think. But thanks for Harvard, Yale and MIT, what ever would we do without Canada's schools.

      ***** Not in my case. I am not really healthy enough to work. I am now in a depression therapy group. I have a lot of issues. I know there is trouble because of unemployment. But that's in part due to a lot of industry being farmed out to other countries. Manufacturers go for the cheapest labour force. Which ain't here. To blame the tide of immigration is a bit heavy handed. After all Canada was built by immigration. And yes, one of the reasons I left Ottawa was because I don't speak French. But again, I am not working because I have health issues. I would love to go back to work. But my body has made it very clear that THAT isn't going to happen.

    What shouldn't be ignored is the fact that the US economy was thriving under very weird and artificial conditions after WW2.
    The biggest competitors were ravaged by the war and US companies could take over their market shares, millions of wealthy refugees had transfered their money from Europe to the USA, the worth of blue prints and patents extracted from Germany was way higher than the amount of money that the Germans got through the Marshal Plan and the protection deals with Saudi Arabia created the so-called "Petro Dollar Circle", which gave the US economy a huge boost too.
    What we're seeing now is that the effects of those special circumstances have run out somewhere in the 80s and parts of the US economy, mainly the manufacturing segment, have to compete with others under halfway fair conditions for the first time since the war. The NSA still helps US companies spying on foreign companies (There are estimates that US industrial espionage alone causes the German economy damages of 2 to 4 Billion Euros each year.), but over all, the fight is much fairer now and the result is that US companies have lost a lot of market shares.
    Boeing is a good example. They pretty much had a monopoly on the market for mid sized and big airliners for half a century and now they are outsold by Airbus and the Chinese are just about to get into the airliner selling business too.
    I'm not saying anything against the middle class and I hope it can be saved, but it just is a fact that standards of living have been unrealistically high and out of proportion to the actual productivity (as bad as productivity is as a measurement for an economy) of US workers.
    In the 50s, 60s and 70s, when the American middle class was cruising around in giant station wagons and limousines and was living in spacious houses with dish washing machines and TV sets and more than one telephone and garbage disposal and was eating out several times a week and having a trip to Disney World or Hawaii each year, all from one income, the European middle class was renting and driving VW Beetles and Mini Coopers and eating meat once a week and was still washing their dishes and laundry by hand. That wasn't because they just preferred small cars or because they didn't work as hard as their American counter parts.
    I still remember seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger being on Jay Leno's show and how hilarious Leno found it to hear that they still used self-made carved little statues, actual pine cones gathered in the forest and if they felt like spending money a few pieces of ginger bread as Christmas tree decoration in Schwarzenegger's house when he was a child. Yeah, that was how it still was in Europe when Americans were debating what color of electrical fairy lights and shining tinsel to hang on the tree each year.
    In Japan the relative (to the USA) disparity between work invested and standard of living was even bigger.
    As ugly as what is happening to the middle class in the USA now is, to some extend it is a normalization. Of course that doesn't excuse the rich elites making it so much worse.

    Cenk, that table Is bit misleading, its based on purchasing power parity. In many aspects PPP indicator is ok indicator to use, but you should always use HDI, GINI and PPP in conjunction to get the best results on living standard and income.
    Example, Norway's income of $88 500 per head is twice as high as that of US's $43 000, with median income in Norway being around 52000 with after tax income of around en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_household_income $32000, but in Norway after tax income is a clean income that can be used for personal needs, in US after tax income is not clean income, you still have social spendings on education, healthcare and insurance costs that aren't included in to overall tax figure. Also you need to look at local, state, federal tax as well as sales, school tax and other tax that are excluded from the study.

    • @micoforion

      Kapten Krok Norway does have oil and gas, so does the US and Canada ;)
      Norway is in Scandinavia btw, just in case you confused it with the middle east, Norway would be rich no matter what, Norway is industrialized hi-tech economy with great deal of economy tied to industry and services.

    • @kaptencgp
      @kaptencgp 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      mic of orion I've worked in Norway for two years. I live in the country next door.
      Norway would be nothing without its oil industry.
      We call Norway "the Saudi Arabians of the north", because they live off of their oil.
      Second largest industry in Norway is fish. That should tell you something about their economy.

    • @micoforion
      @micoforion 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kapten Krok Oh come one man, don't be such a woos, Norway has diverse industry, just cause Sweden wasn't graced with oil reserves don't need to put your neighbours down.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Norway
      U can see that Norway exports a lot, sure 60% is gas and oil, but out of $160~bn, 65 billion are actual high end hi tech products,
      And Norwegians know oil and gas bonanza won't last forever, in fact they know by 2030 much of the EU will relay on renewables, and this is when revenue from oil and gas will drop dramatically, for these reasons Norway is diversifying its economy, with knowledge based economy.
      Norway wouldn't be poor if it hadn't had any oil or gas, just not as rich as it is now, perhaps on pair with Finland or Sweden, Nordic countries are good at generating wealth, Southern European countries relay on tourism and services too much, reason perhaps why they were hit hard by recession, Norway, Sweden, Denmark where't hit as hard cause they diversified their economies.
      If you asked me, would I want to live in Norway, I'd say No, or Sweden for that matter, if I had to choose I'd like in Sweden, but wouldn't be my choice of places to live, not cause it too cold, but cause its way too cold. :D

    • @Oddme100
      @Oddme100 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      mic of orion I'm Norwegian. Our government only uses 4% of the oil income per year. The rest of the money is invested in this fund: www.nbim.no/en/
      If you are working in a stock-based company of any substantial size, then you also work to increase the Norwegian wealth.
      On this site you can see what companies they have invested in (uses flash): www.nbim.no/en/the-fund/holdings-/holdings/
      Of course the taxes and high salary that the oil and gas industry workers earns do boost our economy too, so there will be problems of restructuring the Norwegian economy when the "oil adventure" is over, but at least we will have time to prepare.

    Here in Sweden, our McDonald's workers have some of the lowest wages in the country (yup, put it to an American company to keep wages low) and they still make at least 50 % more than their American colleagues, and that's AFTER they've paid 30 % tax (America has 11.5 % iirc). When I had a job that could be considered "minimum wage" (Sweden doesn't have a set minimum, but it was as low as wages go not counting McDonald's) and I still made 150-200 % more than an American minimum wage worker. What I'm saying is, if tiny "socialist" Sweden can, so can the US.

      keep drinking that kool aid. i have never waited that long. i get an appointment within a week for my general doctor. my specialists are about a month from when i call in to book an irregular appointment (since i have had skin cancer twice now, i see an oncologist and dermatologist every 6 months. if i am planning a trip or something that would conflict, i can call in and arrange to do it a bit early or late normally those will be a couple weeks delayed to squeeze me in).
      every time i have had a serious issue, its been hours to wait at most. mind you if you fuck around and claim its urgent and its not, they will give you shit and maybe even an emergency fee. ive never paid an emergency fee, even in emergency situations. i think they use those to punish asshats who claim urgency to jump the line.
      we also have walk in clinics all over the place, so if your regular doctor is too booked and you want it looked at immediately, go to one of those and you will be waiting 2 hours tops.

I just watched the Sick in America documentary by John Stossel and they talked about the pros and cons of different health care systems in different countries. One of the points of the show was that countries with free health care on average have to wait longer for appointments because many people over use the health care system for every little thing. Its called the moral hazard. I'm not saying that free health care is bad, but it might not be the greatest thing ever like how everyone in America thinks it is

Canada has criminals, but far and few compared to America. Yes America has a larger population but that does not matter to me on a per capita basis. America having more criminals "because the population is larger" is such bullshit, still have a higher percentage of criminals... I would have too take a cut in pay and pay way more for my health benefits and receive less benefits.I was told I would be layed off ( not fired) if I did not move. Come on..seriously?....
      First...no one in Canada gets free medication..period.
      It is actually just as expensive as anywhere else.
      When I was off work to take a break and my company health plan stopped...my medication went from $14.00 for the medication I was on...to $145.00 for the same prescription without my employers plan picking up the balance...
      So unless you are working...get ready to pay huge..in Canada..just like in the US.
      Second...we as Canadians are paying in many cases over 50% in income tax...compared to the same workers paying in the 35% income tax in the US.
      Where do you think your 15-20% higher tax portion goes to?..,,,primarily healthcare...and its increasing...
      So don't get foolish with $ 20.00 figures it just simply isn't realistic...healthcare has to be be paid somehow...you are using the services of professionals that often make $200,000. - $500,000. / year....in very expensive hospitals with very expensive equipment...you have to pay for this somehow....

    As a Canadian I can say that we have anything but a utopian society but we have gotten to a place where we are happier with our life here than what we would imagine it being elsewhere and particularly the United States. Now it may not be fact but from the outside looking in the US way of life seems far more one of taking everything you can get from anyone around you more than a "let's all live a peaceful and prosperous life together" which is what we idealize here. Of course it is not what we exactly have but if you ask most Canadians what they want you will probably find that they don't wish anyone to live in hardship and wish everyone a fulfilling and peaceful life. The last thing we want here is war and that is why we don't want our society to be wandering around with firearms as it brings a mentality with it. You guys to the south can live however you like and therein begs the question... Why don't you just change it? Make your country into what you want it to be.

      It is hard to say as some of the most recent numbers are not available for some countries, but otherwise, the US is the most unequal of the developed nations, to which mexico is often excluded. Otherwise, the US is not that far behind mexico, so just give it a few more years.

      I'm from Toronto so I'm going to be bias and say come to Toronto! All the universities are great and it's a great city for young people. Party city at times . Montreal is a great city as well for young people and their universities are also great. Vancouver is pretty awesome. Halifax has so many sweet people. You have a lot of options, lol. Good luck!

    This topic is too narrow minded. Income isnt spendable income. Spendable income, costs of healthcare, educational costs, etc are not factored in to this study.
    What does it matter how much you make if you can go bankrupt when you get hospitalized?
    If you look at all of the above, United States citizens dont even rank top 10. If they even rank top 50.
    Quality of life in the U.S.A. is worse than most of all western democracies

    If the US continues this trend it's going to lead to disaster. Anything top heavy, be it an SUV, ship, building, or even financial income, is going to fall over the second something knocks it off kilter.

      weckar Ah, ok. Should start a new one then :P. I know a lot of people doesn't give a shit about the smaller parties but isn't it something like 40% of the population that doesn't vote? If you get these people to vote for a third party I think you would see a huge change in both the dems and the reps policy.

    • @weckar
      @weckar 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easier said than done, I'm afraid. There are a lot of reasons people don't vote, and another option is unlikely to change that.

      You don't get the full benefit of our healthcare and government system until you're a full citizen but wages are still good enough to have a better living.

    • @peterpiper7441

      RainAngel111 But it's pretty hard to get a student visa. You need to show that you have enough funds for a year of study, including tuition and living expenses. Not many people have that kind of money in their bank account.
