Canggu seems to be designed for the digital nomad that wants to be seen and look successful. Things we don't care about as we get older, wiser and accrue more wealth. The beach clubs remind me of Lost Vegas. People partying but not really interacting with each other. Just another spectacle to check off the bucket list in Bali.

30 years ago I felt like I was 20 years too late when I visited Bali. I suppose this is just a natural progression. Enjoy the craziness
if you want Bali 30 + 20 years ago, you can go next door to Lombok. They still use horse and buggy as local taxis!

I saw Martha and the Muffins many years ago in Vancouver. From what I can remember they were pretty good and when they did Echo Beach the place went nuts. Ah...memories.
Bali has some great places to stay and to party, esp. for the under 40 crowd. The Australian's have made it a home away from home.
Australians have a bad reputation in Bali, they got drunk, instigate fights and bully the locals. Many tourists avoid areas where Australians are.

FINNS definitely a party palace but I completely agree with you..... I too am much more a chill/relaxed beach vibe type of guy.
Usually old man who come from abroad generally live in Sanur Bali..they need peace and quiet..in Sanur this year an international hospital was built in collaboration with Mayo Clinic and John Hopkins United States

I’ve lived in Canggu, berawa and ulu. And the bukit is the best. Although now I hear it’s gentrifying like central. I knew it would. Home stays are the best bag for ur buck for long term stays. Keeps it local. Cheers to ur vids mate. Really enjoy them.

Went to Bali in 2001, loved it. Thanks STL, you've saved me the expense of booking a really disappointing holiday. Spoiled by the two things that usually mess up a perfect holiday - money and greed.
Wow! Finns is way too busy for me. I much prefer the nice little chill bars along the beach.
As for me i would still prefer legian and kuta, bcoz thats where i can feel the bali vibes, walking along the street with lots of shops and bar and seing fellow tourist enjoying themselves.
One night of dancing at the last bar would be fun for a bit...but imagine all the (you know what!) in that pool. Ewwwwwww!!! 🤣 The traffic though...no thanks! 😝 Oh yeah. Made it to the end! lol 😉
The Lawn Canggu they have great cocktails! Specially the ones that use white & dark rums.
Yeah Bali is booming, at least Changgu. Not my cup of tea, but I can understand the appeal to the younger crowd (did I just say that? 😮)
My travel goals are to find off the beaten track locations where people celebrate local culture and that are untouched by mass market tourism. Canggu would be my vision of Hell. 😂

One who stares at smartphone while traveling.
And making illegal $$. You're there on a tourist visa, not commercial. It's personal memories, not money. They are there weeks at a time, not paying taxes on their income and don't say you are helping locals and boosting tourism.

Dear SideTripLife - Great shots, but Ibiza in Bali? Both top party locations for young travelers. But I'm probably too old for that now. Of course, there is also a party atmosphere in some places in Thailand (e.g. the Full Moon Party on the island of Koh Phangan, can be seen on this channel STL! Next one will be held on Tuesday, 8 November 2022), but when I think back to the last few weeks? OK, at the moment it's raining again, although I thought it was really enough for this year. It also rains in Bali from time to time - the rainy season is just beginning there. Here in Thailand it's the other way around: Loy Krathong, one of Thailand's most beautiful festivals (November 8th), is coming soon, then the rain finally stops and the whole of Thailand is in a wonderful festive mood, more my taste! So when the first raindrops fall in Bali, you can easily move to Thailand, even if you're under 40! - hannes w.

The correct one is Canggu region, not Cangu

All these beach clubs are same everywhere. Fake people, cheesy house music. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.
Actually, beach clubs are not relaxing at all. In reality they are venues for the younger and young at heart people to see and be seen.
The club is so noisy with the music turned on loud and people talking loudly too…if you would call this relaxing then so be it. I don’t.
Love the architecture, but those beach clubs are not for me and honestly the music was terrible LOL
I'll stop watching until you leave New Miami, I mean Bali.
