His book- A Long Walk to Freedom, is the most beautifully written biography I have ever read. I'm fifteen, and I read a lot. Mandela's book is so moving that words cannot described my feeling to it. Read it. It's worth the money and the time.
The least he could have done really was to acknowledge his wife on stage! This woman went through hell holding tight to his dream of a free South Africa. A peck on the cheek is not a lot!
This's a leader a selfless leader who stoop for the voiceless people farewell madiba,I'm going to name my first son Mandela.we love you and your memorys still lives in our hearts❤
Our very own, Nelson! We miss you and love you so much. I know my family voted you into power, and you led us well. Thank you for choosing to live in our time. 🇿🇦
I was there - I was 20 going on 21 and had been out in the streets selling raffle tickets on behalf of the ANC. I was at this concert and will remember the moment Nelson Mandela walked on stage ( and everyone in the stadium, including me, went mad) for the rest of my life. I still have the official souvenir programme bought inside the stadium at the time and the T-Shirt. Nelson Mandela's speech was electrifying.
South Africa is still proud of this man and other political prisoners like the late Walter Sisulu, Achmad Kathrada, Dennis Goldberg, Raymond Mhlaba and many more.
So long ago now, nearly 26 years, but I remember the astonishing feeling when Nelson came out onto the balcony into view. This is only part of the cheering; it felt like an hour but I am sure it was only 20-30 mins - but the feeling... We were jumping up and down, screaming and crying, fists pumping the air, looking at each other with tears streaming down our faces and grins so wide I thought mine would split my head in two! For so long had we had hated the regime of apartheid and been sickened at the treatment of Mr Mandela and his countrymen. We had sung songs in his name and supported anti-apartheid campaigns since we were kids. I have been in some major worldwide events but this one was probably the most ecstatic and the most moving.
Wow!, i am sitting here asking my self that, how did Nelson Mandela do it, that he be loved so much!!. Nelson Mandela was a great man!!!. Nelson Mandela you are my inspiration till i die too. I hope to see you on the other world. I truly do not believe such welcoming !!!. Today i am able to sit on a table and eat with a white person it is all because of you. We Love you Mandela!. RIP
Father of Africa.,but it was honour even for Nyerere to be identified as father of Africa rather than Madiba ,due to what he had done to struggle about Africa.
The great son of the soil, a hero, a revolutionary, a communist, a freedom fighter and a military wing Cadre of the revolutionary movement of the masses of our people, THE BEGGEST MOVEMENT IN AFRICA, THE ANC
This was hilarious and pleasant moment when a great leader was addressing to people with full of jolly mood. Today the leader of new generation must learn executive methods and dignify him with full of reverence. 🙏🙏
I was there and it still brings a tear to my eye. The most incredible and longest ovation EVER!!
