You are truly a master of macro photography & it's so nice to see you out in your element. I'm a little surprised at the lack of people out on the paths. Miss you & your videos - TH-cam has an empty spot when you're not around.
Yeah, Rachel, so glad your back also. I have to admit I haven't been taking photos to much either . I understand how life gets busy and we have to put somethings on hold at times. I really want to and need to get back out there and shoot. I guess you have been more of an inspiration for us all then realized. And we have missed your videos. Good luck in both adventures. 💛💚
And we missed you too! Good seeing you on here. I must say you master the close up shots, not sure how you nail the minimal focus distance. When I try this type of photography the camera shows in-focus but later on the computer it’s not as sharp. Would be good if you make a video on tips or how to capture sharp close ups with a zoom lens!
Becky said she could see the hairs on a bee too! It's 105 degrees here in Texas (40 C) so not much going out shooting except at night. The poor bears are having to drink beer it's so hot. 😃 Becky and I have both lost weight, but not nearly as much as you have - you're looking great.
You captured some great shots of mother nature again. Keep up the good work. I am hindered by arthritis in both shoulders now and have a difficult time holding the camera steady. I need to use my tripod more. Also I have to get off my fat butt and get back out there. If I knew how I would attach a shot I took similar to your dragon fly on the board. I also managed to get a video of dragon flies mating that I have been told if hard to get.
Don’t be so hard on yourself! I can completely relate to having an injury/condition that makes it hard to do what you’d love to do. It’s very frustrating and unmotivating! Do what you enjoy as you are ready! The dragon fly photos sound amazing!!
I've been back out taking pics myself as well. Been using a little Panasonic film point n shoot (28mm f/8) and just walking around the local area snapping away. Had a cold which laid me up for 2 weeks, so I've had a bit of time on my hands and took advantage of it once I felt up to doing something. Might go out again later this afternoon and see what else I can find around the place😊
Thanks Rich! So for that image, I did very little editing except maybe add some contrast. The reason the background is so dark is just because the subject (the plant) was in bright sunlight and the background was in the shade! I love taking pictures like this. Just make sure to expose for the foreground and the background all but fades away. 😊👍
Hi Denise! I would look up reviews online. Dxo mark is helpful. A fixed lens is usually higher quality than a zoom but it all depends. I have zooms for convenience and I’m very happy with their quality.
Oh my goodness Rachel !! You are precious 💖 Very talented and enjoying the journey with you!!! Blessings!!
Aw thank you! That’s so nice!!
@@RachelLerch You are very Welcome 🥰

That’s a great idea for my next video! Thanks so much. I do love the macro. It’s always so interesting to see what I’ve discovered
@@RachelLerch sweet! It might be easier with a dedicated macro lens but unfortunately I only have zooms.
Glad to see you back!
Thanks so much! 😊😊
That was you in gym in all the video inserts? Very impressive. Have a blast with it.
Oh thank you so much Steve! Yes it was me. 😄 It’s so much fun!
hey good to see you & live life while you have the energy to do it , believe me as you get older that will fade
Thanks Gilbert! That’s good advice. My mum keeps telling me, “Just don’t stop!”

Great to see you back Rachel. Also love my 70-300 lens 😉. Greetz from Belgium, Alstamarisphotography!
It’s a great lens isn’t it?? 😊👍👍
Thank you for sharing this video. I enjoy your approach to photography; thank you for giving me some ideas for equipment.

@@RachelLerch I look forward to watching more on your channel.
Absolutely loved walking with you Rach, loved the photography too.

Aw thanks David! We have the same heat here today!! My tiny pool is going to dry up! 😂
Great video! Brightened a very stormy day in Florida!
Oh thanks! I’m so glad!

I’m glad you’re feeling better!! I’ve been looking for a tiny point and shoot myself, to keep with me at all times. 👍👍
So happy to see you back Rachel. Great shots and video as always. Question... how did you edit the photo @9:53 I love the negative background.
Thanks Rich! So for that image, I did very little editing except maybe add some contrast. Thanks @@RachelLerch .
So enjoyed your video. Feels like I’m there. Question-What should I look for in a wide angle lens?
Hi Denise! I would look up reviews online. Dxo mark is helpful. A fixed lens is usually higher quality than a zoom but it all depends. I have zooms for convenience and I’m very happy with their quality.
What type of lens did you use?I see hairs on a bee w/ 50-250 telephoto lens.
It was my 70-300 sony lens. F4 I think. It’s one of my favs!
Thanks so much for sharing 🥰
I have missed you also
😊 Thanks Roger!
Where have you been? How come you haven't been posting?
I was sick. Feeling better now.
@@RachelLerch Sorry to read about that. Pleased you are on the mend.
My camera caught a bee peeing in flight! No joking!
No way!!!! So cool!!
@@RachelLerch why do you carry a whistle
