My 930 always would jam, put the Or3gun comp kit on it and it's a beast. I still prefer the 940, but only because it's smooth from the loading port to the forearm. Thanks for the comment 👍

Lest anyone think I'm a Mossberg hater, I also have a Maverick 88 with an 18.5 and 28" barrel. One of my favorite guns of all time. If I ever feel the need for a gas-operated semiauto shotgun, I'll buy a Beretta A400.
@@jamesclark4 The difference is, Berretta, builds a great semiauto shotgun. It's not unusual to find them for rent at sporting clay courses, old and dirty as hell, but still cycling rounds. Mossberg? Eh.
Benelli is a yuppy gun and I've seen more Benellis jam than any other brand. They can not handle dirt at all. They literally can't hang in rain and mud. They just do not like dirt and if you hunt hard you would know.

The receiver is drilled and tapped so you can install a pic rail on top and run your optic. But you are right it would have been much better to just mill it for an optic, since they already did that to the tactical model which is $200 more. 🤷🏻♂️

After your upgraded 930 vid I almost just pulled the trigger on that, mostly because I like how compact it is. But having an opportunity for 940 has me questioning. Sorry for the long one lol
No problem at all. That's a hard one to answer. If I was using th SG for home defense I would probably get the 930 or a pump shotgun with a short barrel. If the 930 doesn't perform well then add the Or3gun kit. If you're looking for a good all-round SG buy the 940. The reason I mentioned the pump is they are less likely to have a malfunction over a semi- auto. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment 👍
