I grew up on the Isle of Dogs and spent most of my life mudlarking on the river. I used to swim in Limehouse Basin as a child (tetanus? What’s that??) I mudlarked right up until 2013 when I moved down to the south coast. I would love to visit my Father Thames and mudlark again and it breaks my heart they’ve put a stop on issuing permits. I feel like they’ve put a stop to my childhood. I hope they reconsider soon and allow me to get a permit.

The shells are whelk shells native to the uk and used as food taste like rubber in my opinion tho
