We bought a 2022MY dealer special Sprite Compact in May last year. It's a lovely van but just too compact for us and our bearded collie. The washroom especially was a pain. Showering was very, very awkward and the shelf above the toilet attracts male foreheads like a magnet. After three months we gave up the unequal battle, bit the bullet and swapped it for a 2022 Bailey Phoenix + 420 that already had ATC, solar panel and exterior gas point. The Phoenix is 7ins wider and 8ins longer overall, but actually 14ins longer internally. It's lounge benches are 6ft 2ins long which is important when you're 6ft or so tall and there's a rear washroom with separate shower cubicle. A really great two berth van.

Can’t think of anything worse than a tv in my caravan! Why would I want to be sat inside my caravan on holiday to watch a tv when the whole point of my holiday is to decompress and enjoy the local area I have travelled to!

Because it rains in England too often.

A thorough review of this caravan. I like the window in the wet room but it would have been better on the back wall so the shower curtain covers the shelf and window when using the shower. Currently the window and blind will get wet if using the shower.

Very good point! You are quite right. If the window was on the back wall as you suggest, you wouldn't probably even need to use the blind as the curtain would effectively do the same job of blocking the view. Therefore not exposing the blind to even condensation. Swift haven't really thought that one through probably.

For safety it would make the sockets too close to the sink in case of electric shock.

As dealer Percival you could have put power socket 0n window at front

From a size point of view, this would be an excellent caravan for towing here in Japan. We have lots of narrow lanes and in rural areas, a wide 7m wide 'A road' (equivalent of) can suddenly turn into a 4m wide road, so having something that is narrower means far less stress. That said, the most popular caravans here are Hobby and Adria with quite a few American RV trailers being towed as well, which I don't understand as they are humongous. Japan has no regulations on towbar/hitch receiver or 50mm or 2" ball. The M.O.T. of the caravans do check the brakes and lights and the size of the red triangle and front reflector, but not the coupler. They do however check to see if you have a waste water tank as part of the M.O.T. and that you have chains on the side windows so they cannot be opened more than 15cm whilst in transit, even though the law prohibits anyone from travelling in a trailer anyway. Anyway, I digress. Thank you for this introduction to the Swift Compact (Dealer special version). For me here in Japan, the lack of a front sunroof is not necessarily a bad thing as it gets very, very hot here in summer and it allows (maybe..) for the fixing of a domestic style seperate type air conditioner which are far more efficient for dealing with the Japanese summers. The outside part typically is put in the front gas locker. We don't use propane tanks (very difficult to get) and convert to the small gas canisters.

There seems to be a lot of love for Swift vans in the US, hopefully they'll listen one day! Thanks for watching 👍😊
