- There are various surnames within the Adi tribes. It is sometimes very difficult to know whether the person is an Adi or not. How many surnames are there in the Adi community ? What surnames belongs to the Adi tribe ?
This video is an attempt to answer such questions for greater unity amongst the Adis.
The Adis are one of the major tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Literally, the term 'Adi' means ' hill ' or 'people of the hill'. In fact Adi is a federal term consisting of many sub - tribes like Bokar, Bori, Minyong, Padam, Pasi, Shimong, Milang, Ashing etc.
This sub - tribes are further divided into various surnames.

In the next video, unbox the sub-tribe. 🙏 After that clans 🙏. Even I don't know the whole of adi clans . Many of our younger generation need to know their own clan and it's members and the sub-tribe he/she belongs to 🙏.
According to me the word 'Adi' is just as the word 'Naga' given to the tribal groups and as many have migrated in different regions, like as you have pin "are they belong to Tagin". I personally believe Nishi, Galo, Tagin, Apatani and Mising are also ADI. As we have many sub-tribe which actually not a sub-tribe but a tribe in itself.

All those surname were our forefathers' name 😂. We took it as surname because we didnt have one. We used to have just a single name and names were remembered through geonology. You have written Badu and Degu. But Badu comes under Degu. Degu was father of Badu.
