I have the AirPods 2 with the wired charging case, and I’m not paying for more expensive ones, because who needs to charge wirelessly anyway if you still have the lightning cable and connector?

Kauthar 06 For the individual ear pieces, you don’t need a wireless charger. Those will charge via the case. But if you want to take advantage of the wireless charging capabilities of the AirPods Case, then yes, you will need a wireless charging pad. If you’re not planning on using them with a wireless charger and you’re fine with plugging them in to charge, then you’re better off getting the non-wireless charging case AirPods and save the extra money.
This is a quite later but the version with “wireless charging allows you to use a wireless charging pad with the simple act of placing it on the pad along. The standard gen 2 airpods can charge when put back in the case that’s holds it’s own charge. In conclusion wireless charging is the ability to merely place it on a pad and it shall instantly charge… wirelessly.

I thought by wireless it uses lithium battery like the Logitech keyboards Apple sells for the iPads, which doesn’t require a wire to charge for 2-3 years, but if I need a charging pad then it’s really not worth the extra money since there’s not a lot of differences, except for the price.

BeanyBoi77 i don’t understand this question but, airpods gen 1 can recharge your pods but once you recharge your case. you can also leave your pods inside the case and connect it to the lightning cable and charge it. the airpods themselves will lose battery a lot quicker than the case so you would put them back in and let them charge so that they will refill in battery life (the case acts like a portable charger for the airpods themselves)
The wireless charging case allows you to place your airpods on a wireless charging capable pad and charge them like that and you still have the option to plug them in via a lightning cable at the bottoms if needed as well. The regular ones just plug in at the bottom to charge with a lightning cable. Either one have the same specs for the actual airpods however, just different ways to charge them.
@ Slurpzzy: most stores right now have the standard version of the airpods w/o the wireless charging for 139.99 in the US. So if you don’t plan on getting a pad, and are fine with charging the case with a direct cable that’s a pretty fair price.
I know this response is late, but it’s any age as with Apple the devices are sold “out right” meaning you’re not activating it. And without activating a device you don’t undergo a credit evaluation. As long as you have a credit or debit card as I think GameStop moved all electronic device sales to online only.

The ones in the video are AirPods (1st Generation) and AirPods (2nd Generation + Wireless Charging case) the AirPod Pros are a completely different lineup of AirPods. The pros have noise cancellation where these ones in the video do not. www.apple.com/airpods/

Ok so I bought a pair of airpods today which I think are gen two because it said gen two in the display but I have the non wireless charging ones and it's a more black strip in the back not the more glossy one so did i get the right one or no
I believe you can do so but you might have the re-pair the AirPods to that specific case once placed in. I know once AirPods are taken out of the case they are normally paired typically the white light would flash on the case for re-pairing to the BlueTooth Device.
The both have batteries in the cases no matter which AirPods you buy, if you get the wireless charging case ones you just get an additional option on how you want to charge the battery in the case. Through a wireless charging pad, or through the lightning cable. The ones without wireless charging the case only charges with a lightning cable.

Davion Monroe only the wireless version has the LED light on the exterior of the charging box. Otherwise, the first and second gen AirPods are identical, both without the LED light on the outside.

Physically not by much, nearly an hour extra of talk time. Which when I used these two pairs I never noticed drastic differences in battery life. The different chipsets allowed you to get the “Hey Siri” command which is the voice activated features in the H1. Other than that not much different in specs. Hard word to spell, and get better angles on the product, i.e top down angles, add jump cuts and background music, nothing to intense, and have everything ready and prepared for the scene👌👌 sincerely a failed techtuber

Comparing the two models currently offered by Apple which are the 2nd Generation AirPods, both of these AirPods have the same identical form factor and chips, the only differences between the two are the fact that one you can place on a QI Wireless Charging Pad, with the addition to charging at the bottom via the lightning port. The standard Airpods, only give you the option to just charge via the lightning port itself, no other charging options are available out of the box. Later on if you have a standard 1st gen or 2nd gen airpods without the wireless charging case, you can opt to purchase the charging case itself separately, but it is not a required accessory at all.
