I always struggle in small stream fishing when I try to switch from a beadhead or emerger to a streamer in deeper pools. Sometimes it seems like I don't have the right setup to get it down to the bigger fish without my floating line sinking.

Can I use a 9ft 1x or 2x and put my streamer right on the end of it?

Bit of a waste of a leader. I'd suggest using old leaders
