I made a "Wing" for my Martin Backpacker Guitar, lowered the action, and added an electric pickup.

Dude thank you for showing some ways to prop the guitar to your side!! I love the neck pillow idea!

Son of a gun. I made a primitive cigar box guitar with the neck mounted on top of the box. I used a piezo pickup but I tired of that and, with no conventional place to mount a standard single-coil pickup, I did just as you've done! Bravo. Heal quickly!

Wow Dave, nice mods, loved both ideas. Especially loved your pickin and grinnin, one RCpilot/musician/JOAT, etc. to another. Can’t wait for the 12 string video. That’s my daily player, Alvarez Jumbo Blonde 12 string acoustic electric.

Yep, a stealth guitar for wherever you are is the best by far..! It's an excellent idea to exercise your mangled finger, and I pray for a full recovery of your dexterity. Oorah, from der Bud

If they only looked at it, they would see this is a very easy addition, and probably not patent-able anyway, as the door next to the patent office, says Knockoffs!! Thanks much, Don

@@NightFlyyer Thomastik JS110 Strings to the rescue. What makes them interesting is that the Wound strings have colored silk wound around the ends to protect them & the Plain Steel strings are coated in Brass so they do produce a Special sound. A Review Video on those strings will be a blast too.

@@RockStarOscarStern634 I just ordered the Silk and Steel Martin strings for it. They also has silk around the ends as well. I'll experiment over the winter, but mostly, if you saw my last video, I play it and my Fender to demonstrate my Looper. Couldn't find any Flat wound strings by Martin and most reviews of the others say they are harder to press, and at 75 with a mangled finger and Arthritis, I need easy. They seem to change the specs on these. I love how they say (random) "tonewoods back & sides" whatever that means. Yours has an ebony or epee fret board? Mine is simple expose neck 'tonewood' material.
I like the swing blade idea for standing! For sitting I buckle the strap at the rear pin only, then run the strap along the side of the body, then between my legs and round my right leg back out, sitting on the strap, pinning the body to my right leg.

2:50 Don't be put off by Martin refusing to even look at your design. That is common practice by companies to protect both you and them. If they are already making, designing, or even contemplating any kind of modification or new product the argument can be made (and has successfully been made numerous times in court) that "seeing" someone else's designs influenced theirs and is therefore liable for damages and/or compensation. This is not their fault. It's caused by a greedy litigious legal system. But it does stifle innovation and creativity.

Wow, I would have never expected a video like this from you! I look forward very much to watching it, probably tomorrow. I saw that you mentioned that you were possibly adding a "wing", and I feel somewhat compelled to make a joke about making it into an RC flyer, but it's late here on the East Coast, and any attempt at such humor now would most likely be quite lame. :) Thanks for another video, _John_
