I’ve actually set my goal since a few months to be able to play the War of being Interlude groove with all the hertas hahaha Looking forward to hear you in Switzerland next week!!
@@akimbo.1887 indeed… but it’s a great exercise at least, working both on technique, polyrhythm and strength/endurance. But the loop could have been a few bar shorter… 😅
Happy New Year! Thank you for the great advice. I'm just starting and your advice about playing something you feel you can play good or better at the end helps so much. I can see now why you suggest that. There can be times when you get discouraged when learning something new even though it is something you want to learn because you want to get it right so when you walk away having played something you felt better about it definitely gives you more motivation and confidence to want to practice again. I'm gonna use that from now on.
Glad it resonated with you. It’s a small shift in mindset but makes a huge difference! It’s important to practice the things that make you feel the most excited. Drumming or playing any other musical instrument is supposed to be fun and following this simple rule has helped me dial in my own abilities. Follow this path long enough and you end up sounding uniquely ‘you’
Came for polyrhythms, stayed for some incredible life advice! That's why you are where you are. Have a fantastic 2025 Jay and fellow drummers!
Happy new year mate - thanks for the kindness.
Love the wisdom in this video!

One of the few great drummers with a talent for education. Love Jay Postones.
Happy new year. And yet another great video😊
Happy new year, still loved seeing you at the uk drum show, an unforgettable moment that was in september.
