The issues with auto byes are the following 1: the committee saw the issue with the unfair seeding due to auto byes as less of an issue than conferences moving away from conference championship games because they can be punished for it, hence why Texas and PSU are above Ohio state and Tennessee. 2: bowl games and a 12+ team playoff do not mix, the issue of having a collegiate fanbase go to 3 neutral site games in 6 weeks is asinine 3: The thought process of B1G and SEC auto byes and seeding from there is decent, but then the ACC and Big12 will cry non stop like little pansies 4: it should’ve never extended past 6-8-10 teams. SMU, Clemson, Boise, ASU, Indiana CANT win it, so why did we expand it for them? 5: RE-SEED Tennessee OSU play round one, sure, fair, the unfair part is that then Oregon pulls one of them, so re-seed after each round, just like the NFL, to ensure your highest seeds are rewarded
Legit love the family but…. Them saying the backup QB is the holder when the punter has been the holder for like 10+ years is a tough “don’t know ball” look lol
Everyone’s watched the last 2 Oregon qbs play exactly the same and think it’s them not being able to throw downfield instead of play calling and gameplan lmaoooo
Alabama and there AD is a bunch of losers talking about not scheduling top powers 5 teams out of conference, they played USF, Western Kentucky, and Mercer
They played Wisconsin on the road. Mercer would have actually helped SMU’s SOS. The point the AD is making is that p4 OOC is obviously not valued by the Comm. so why have that vulnerability on your resume. The comm. only cares about record so why not just stack you OOC with small teams and eliminate a point of vulnerability?
@@BigSkinny03 Wisconsin was dog shit this year. If Bama had a win over a good team instead of Mercer, they'd probably be in. If Alabama is going to regularly lose 2 conference games in this postseason era, their only actual chance is to have good OOC wins.
@ “if Bama had a win over a good team” guess you’re forgetting Georgia and SC( the same SC team that beat Clemson who without this fucked format would be nowhere near a playoff). Alabama and other SEC teams would rather lose a conference game or two and have a shit OOC(like some teams who got in) then schedule Ohio State or Oregon and risk losing the games if the committee isn’t going to look at the totality of a resume. Idk why that’s so hard for people to understand. Wisconsin became shit when TVD got hurt in the game against Alabama. That’s still harder than Indiana’s, OSU’s, Texas’ OOC
7-9 Seattle Seahawks went to the playoffs in the NFL, I'm sure other teams at or around .500 have gone, and why do those teams go? Because they won their division. That what the comittee tried to do by incentivizing playing for and/or winning a conference championship.
Bad Texas take. Texas' strength of schedule was 20 - the only playoff team with a harder SOS is Georgia. South Carolina was 13 and Alabama was 18; that's not a huge difference to 20. Texas didn't beat top 20 teams, but they played a lot of teams ranked between 25-40 and didn't lose to them like Alabama, S Carolina, Ole Miss, and others did. Plus, you can criticize teams for intentionally ducking teams and creating a bad schedule, but Texas didn't do that. They scheduled Michigan on the road. The SEC gave them Oklahoma, who is traditionally good, and 2 other rivalry games, Arkansas and ATM, on the road. It's not Texas' fault that traditionally good teams sucked this year, nor can one predict teams like Ole Miss (less than .500 win percentage over the past decade) would suddenly be good. Texas played who was put in front of them, whipped most of them by double digits, was a dominating top-5 defense in the nation, and has a decent chance to win it all. They might not, but they've proven just as much as anyone not named Georgia.
If the dude on the right is that stupid Brandon, then why is he on the show. Penn St. Path to victory is only marginally easier than the teams like Ohio Georgia, ect, except for Texas. Don't get me started on Texas's candy ass team.

Wait til Connor finds out there’s noon SEC games
Actually the 6 seed is the best. Because you will get the 11, the 3, and you stay off the side of #1
Been busy with master’s finals but we’re back. Family
penn state gets it the best, lose to osu at home and lost to oregon in the championship but get smu and boise?
True, but do you know how hard it is to play at noon?!? They probably won’t even fill the stadium.
Family forever 6
Texas, Penn State are in the playoff without a big top 10 win because of their preseason ranking. GET RID OF PRESEASON RANKINGS!!!

The 5 seed isn’t the best it’s clearly the 6

That is not universal. Many teams still have the qb hold, even just if to improve fakes
@@brianb1888 I promise you on all of the 32 nfl teams the punter holds... CFB is different but NFL its been the standard for years
