My father ,the late Arthur Lysaght was a parochial poet from Athlunkard St. He always won first prize with his Limericks in Christy Le Gears pub across the road from us. We had one framed in our hall at home. It went like this."There was a young fella called Hannan Who was employed night and day catching salmon. Until the doctor said "Stop or one day you will drop".Which he did the poor fella, of Famine.
I’m a Limerick man currently in Gothenburg, Sweden and only last night a local man was asking me about limericks when he heard where I was from, what a coincidence
I love CR's Video Vaults I would sure shed a tear if he halts These clips from the past Are really a blast I just cannot find any faults (I'd love to know the bleeped out Limerick yer man at the end said)
I am from limerick.grew up in county limerick in the country side where I now live and hope I will die and be buried.limerick people are my people.there the best people in the world....
The stone walls of the church bore witness to baptisms, weddings, and tearful farewells. The rolling hills outside whispered secrets to the wind, and the ancient yew tree in the churchyard cradled generations of memories. RJG
Methinks that you are referring to HARVEY, Havey The Rabbit, that very dear friend James Stewart who loved nothing more than sitting at the bar having a few drinks telling great stories
There once was a woman called Bright
Who travelled at the speed of light
She went out one day
In a relative way
And came back the previous night
👏👏👏

1:06 - that's a lovely jacket he has there, I think he got it for £9.95 on the Winter Sale (0:40)
There once was a Lady from Glin.
Who sat by the fire to sing.
A spark of coal, went up her hole.
And burnt a hair on her thing.
My best friend surname was Limerick, he came from a very large family and at school the other kids would shout out here comes the Limericks
It’s funny because every limerick I know, or can recall from memory, came from the pages of that particular magazine with the rabbit on it.

4:45 a nicely timed jab at the interviewer
I can't make out what he's saying there.
I need to know the one at the end
The city centre looks so much bigger back then
A very different limerick to today
Most in the clip dead or away
Today's city bigger
Not much to consider
The old character I wish here to stay
there was a young man from Nantucket
@2:19…….what?
He says that he doesn't know it because he's from somewhere in county Clare.
there was a young woman from Dallas
aggh they censored the only person who knew a good limerick
Jaysus health in the cities wasn't a priority back in the day. Rural Irish people looked a lot healthier than urban Irish people,
Limerick ur a lady as song says 😉😉🤩
There is a limerick in the Koran towards the end of
Luisteraarster. Luistervink ook. Het auteurecht. Het eigen ik.
Irish invented rap ha!
I’ll tell ye 1 thing the ugly stick must of been used a lot back then
A lovely contribution...wanker
😂😂 shut up
The only time I felt surrounded by Irish people like that was at the Connor Mcgregor Nate Diaz fight the bar was literally split in two sides haha
They Live to hAte Connor but he really had the hottest ticket since Muhammad Ali. But only for a flash but they all do.
