  • What are the best things to use when you want to do things? Why would we want to use this thing? Is this right and other questions that might stop you from actually making a game.

I'm obsessed with doing things the most efficient and right way even if my blueprints already works fine ^^

The biggest difference I've found when debating between using a function or a macro is the ability to use delays inside a macro.

For comment readers: note also there are blueprint macro library and blueprint function library types of BP too (right click content browser > new... to see them). This is a bit beyond beginner, but its basically the same concepts on steroids. It lets you create a template/library which you can then call into your blueprints with a node as if it were a macro or function in your actual BP. Say if I have a nifty debug node with pins for msgs and logs with a disable boolean tickbox etc. I probably want to utilize that across many different BP. These allow you to do that instead of remaking the macro or function in each one.

Man, you just gained another subscriber. I don't usually comment unless the video had really sparked inspiration on me. And this one just did. I've recently started to learn programming and this video just inspired me to learn even more

Yes! a great viewpoint for beginners for sure, I had a lot of these questions myself at first. Shortly after these initial doubts etc, I very quickly had the thought "lets just do things and if it breaks, F#$! It." .. I think a lot of people have the idea the first thing they do in unreal is going to be an actual game. I tell people go make a mess, don't worry what happens.. just make the things do stuff. It will be Fiiiiine :p
