I just booked a last minute cruise and threw caution to the wind by getting a "guarantee" cabin on deck 1 or 2 for $425 w/taxes. Plus $200 ship credit, $200 casino play and free drinks inthe casino. So basically, a free cruise. I was hoping for deck 1 because that's where the rest of our family is, but ended up with cabin 2495. Back corner of the Family Harbor. I was so disappointed. Now, I'm not a kid hater, but retired and not crazy about being around kids all day. (been there, done that) However..... having a coffee machine and easy breakfast just steps away makes me much more comfortable. I can have my coffee without having got go to the buffet or a speciality restaurant, then head up to the Havana when I'm ready. Thanks for sharing. Now I look forward to the cruise in a few weeks.
So yeah, I am not a huge fan of guarantee cabins. I did it once on NCL, and they absolutely gave me what I paid for, but I would have preferred spending the extra $50 or whatever it was to get what I wanted. I am glad it worked out for you on this trip, and I was on a casino offer too! So yeah, maybe we just got lucky, and you will definitely see kids in the halls, but I just didn't hear any noise from them. Like you say, the coffee and such with no line was great. I just did a video on the Serenity deck, and it is a great option when you want to get away from kids for a bit. I have two teenagers who I love very much, but yeah. Sometimes you wanna sit quietly with a drink in a place where they aren't.
I don't remember! I do know, though, that there was generally space available to play video games if that is what you want to do. I expected that to be busier.

Were there any times during the day where the lounge was too busy to enjoy?
For about an hour before dinner, and for about an hour before we got into each port.
I didn't understand, do we need to be staying in the family rooms to be able to use?
You do need to stay in a Family Harbor room to access the Family Harbor lounge.
what kind of board games and video games did they have? If you remember
I don't remember! I do know, though, that there was generally space available to play video games if that is what you want to do. I expected that to be busier.
Is there juice and water available in the family lounge?
Yes, there is. That was one of the really nice features, along with the coffee.
Not to mention yogurt, espresso, and other nice features
@@DineDrinkTravel but you had to pay for it? or was the british breaky free? you mentions snacks were expensive?
@@aplacetorambleon No, if you paid for a Family Harbor room access to the lounge and the food offerings was free
Was soft-serve available in the family harbor lounge?
They had a machine, although I never saw anyone use it.
Is this a very busy area or more low key?
Sorry it took me so long to answer! It had quiet spots, but it was *super* busy at key times.
