- There is nothing like sitting there quietly reading a book and suddenly bursting out laughing. If that sounds like something you want to experience, I have some comedy book recommendations for you.

My recommendation - 'Days Out - The Funboy3' By Phil Street. A trilogy of comic masterpieces. Four guys travelling from town to town, from pub to pub. Very funny. Should be made into a TV show. The author has written a couple of books in an 'Antidote' series and a Novella which is very amusing.

The book "You Suck" by Paulie Amigo is a fun self-help satire. Recommended.
I have a suggestion if I may. Title is Life Seemed Good, But.... The stories are fantasy humor, each about 2 pages long, and is not at all what you'd expect! I can send a pdf if you like or you can read some free on Amazon. The stories are written as if for children but are for adults. Many thanks!

I looked at that Michael Ian Black book because it was on google books. It was a really weak effort. Thank god I did not buy it. I got the impression that if he did not already have a following from being an actor and the book was submitted to publishers by just an average person, it never would have been published. You should try the essays/stories that Woody Allen wrote for The New Yorker in the 1960s and 1970s. They are collected in the books Getting Even, Without Feathers, etc. It’s not like they are Proust, but better than anything listed here.
Man, Michael Ian Black was so hilarious in Stella. A shame the show only lasted a season. I've gotta check out his book in the future.
One comedy book I got as a kid was Mad Magazine's How to be a Successful Dog. Pretty funny for a younger reader audience.
