    Hypothermia weather to be sure. Way to grind through some of that miserable weather. As of now, 10/25, the CDT through Colorado has, in places, a heavy dusting up high with 2-3 days over the next ten a touch more up high. The offer of some Trail Magic for ya still stands as you come through the state. Stay safe and thank you for all your posts. Much fun to watch you get 'er done.

    Just found your channel. Your kicking it! I backpacker a lot of the southern Sierra much of it cross country. Also been an avid MTBer since 85. My brother & I plan the pct when he retires, 2024. Started watching your earlier workout vids, bin inspiring? Thank you

    Another good video. Try a "FastBreak" candy bar. I like them better than Snickers. You are right to carry extra food. Instant oatmeal or Carnation Essentials seems to give the best bang for the buck and room. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

    Hi there, I havent been here in month, living homeless now, but documenting it all - it's kinda like your daily vlogging, just different society class, less views, I had no hail so far but I say "hail art and extreme sport". I see weather now out of another perspective, and when you said "at least it's not rain" I was like "YAP!". For me Rain is the worst. I have no experience with snow, but it's not far away I guess.
    Greetings from Cologne Ger.
    PS: You could now also be my follower, after I follow you for like years or so. Would be great, and my series will show you(everyone) some things about society - I am documenting NBD. Actually trying to change the world, unite society.
    If I fail you can watch me go down, since this is no safety out survival.
    Peace
    Ingo

  • @brib9716

    Serious question. Why do you carry your InReach on your shoulder strap? It's not on so you're not doing the breadcrumb thing. Why not just stow it away in a pocket? If you need it, it's just as easy to grab it from a pocket as unclipping it from the strap. People always say "Well the antenna needs to be pointing at the sky for it to work". Yeah, dummy, so when you need it and go to turn it on and start to fiddle with the buttons guess where the antenna will be pointing?
    It's just something I've noticed lately that everyone seems to be doing. Before these came along, the thing to do was hang a bottle of hand sanitizer off your strap for whatever mysterious reason.
    Seems like people see others doing something and they just do it too. There seems to be a lot of that in the thru hiking community. I have Altras because someone on TH-cam has Altras and so on and so on...
    No offense, just a funny observation that's been bugging me for some psychotic reason. 😆

      @QuadzillaHikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Because I use it to text with when I don't have reception, and that's why everyone else has it hanging off their straps, so that they can get reception with it as they text and update people.

    Been following you for some time. You seemed tired this segment of video. Every reason to with elevation, weather, etc. I would think you must be looking forward to completing of this year long journey. Or maybe not..

    • @viadharmawheel

      It seems that way, maybe halfway through the PCT. Definitely more energy on the AT. Even low energy Quadzilla has enough reserve to blast him through this thing. My longest similar journey was a month and at the end I was missing home only to not miss it once home for a day or so. 12 months when completed is such a different level and like said above the composure is great, he is one with nature. I feel blessed to join along even if it is the cliff notes version.
